I was there last week with the Lotus. I have not brought the 1 Series in a while. It might make sense to grab a few spots around the corner from the center parking lot and do a complete row of BMW 1 series cars. But I usually leave the spaces right by Katies for exotics and classic cars. Not sure about this coming weekend, though last Saturday was packed!

Gauging interest in an after Katie's Coding session for 1 Series cars. I have an OBDII cable on the way, should be here in a few weeks. I plan on testing the different modules in my car to see which ones can have fun things activated. Once I do that, I will have a list of coding features I can do and a rough idea if how much time it takes.
Here is a partial list of what I believe might be possible... - //M digital speedometer - comfort key fob eject - comfort doors/windows/sun roof/convertible top open and close with key fob - fold/un fold mirrors with key fob - activate NOAA weather band in radio - activate SMS support in radio - activate timer based ventilation in radio All these should work with 1 Series and maybe E9x cars. (the modules in those cars are from the same family). |

I'd definitely be interested and I know of somebody with an e90 that would be interested too. We'd want to get rid of the annoying warnings for seatbelts and get the ability to roll up windows with the key fob.

BTW: I imagine you'd get more response if you start a new thread on it. A lot of people aren't going to check out an old thread about a meet-up that happened months ago.

LOL. True! I don't want to get folks' hopes up too much till I actually get this working. I have the software installed, hopefully updated. Next will be to get the cable drivers working in Windows and actually read in car data.
As far as seatbelt warnings go, there are several, gong and text. The gong can definitely be disabled, as I have seen a spreadsheet list with that on it. Apparently, when you get a BMW delivered in Europe, all these things are customizable. But here in the US, dealers won't do anything that changes the basic spec of the car. There are a bunch of lighting changes, including fogs on with high beams, fogs on with high beam flash, double flash hazards, DRLs with no tail or marker lights (I want this one) no marker lights (US cars have these turned on all the time) etc. Lots of fun things to experiment with! |
