Very nice - congrats...
Appologies don't mean to sound harsh, but only thing I would've done differently is opted for a nice contrasting interior colour, or at least opted for silver trimming which would've looked fantastic against that grey external colour, the black interior looks so bland and boring IMHO...black looks good with the lighter colours like alpine white etc. Love the look of the new nav display and controller |

Congratulations Dodger! Oh why do I think there will be several brand new E82's cruising around aimlessly this long weekend?
By the way, sleep well tonight. There will be no chance on Friday night! |

I'm sure the hot Sydney weather won't help tonight! Well at least you can sleep in an air conditioned car tomorrow night! All the best Gumball and Dodger! Enjoy!

Just received my 135, it is fantastic much better than I remember, I have been around visiting mates for their test drive, lots of dust on front wheels already!! Must spray them with Armourall brake dust repellant tomorrow.
Will post pics later. Congrats Gumball on your new 135. |

Greetings everyone!
It's coming up nearly 2 weeks to the day I picked up my joy, thought I provide a quick update for those interested. Having completed a mere 461kms, I am happy to report all is going well, exceedingly well in fact. Some of you may have seen a separate post by me as to a mysterious cable I found under the rear bench - but it would seem it was pretty benign. That's about it. I thought I provide my Top 3 surprise likes and dislikes (too strong a term). Let's call it 'areas of opportunity' then. Surprise Likes: #1: Ride/Handling compromise despite RFT's reputation #2: New iDrive and voice commands #3: Steptronic Areas of opportunity: #1: Fuel tank size and distance-to-empty range #2: Glare on gauges in noontime sun (curiously iDrive screen is fine) #3: Electric folding door mirrors (option) don't fold automatically on exiting and door-locking the car. By the way, I can live with all of the above and the 'Likes' list was seriously culled for the purposes of Top 3. A notable note which I will throw in here is how if you double press the unlock on the fob, windows open about 3/4 of the way down as soon as you pull the door handle to assist with missing your head as you sit into the car and then automatically winds back up when you shut the door. And this works for both the drivers and passenger windows. Good for big heads Here are some new pictures, this time in the sun. |

Hey Gumball!
Yes, 'ScotchTint 3M Black Colour Stable' which I uses on all my cars. So what are your Top 3's? http://solutions.3m.com/wps/portal/3...beT4DCJBL6BVgl |

My top 3. 1. Manual transmission - its brilliant, very smooth and hill holder rocks. Light clutch for such a powerful car 2. Handling - still have not pushed it but feels so good at moderate speeds. Steering feel is great! 3. Jet Black colour - it looks so shiny and reflective when clean - very happy with the choice. Dislikes: 1. Dot Matrix on the windows making tints look a little tatty when viewed closely. 2. None 3. None |

You're right about the dot matrix window edges though I think I might have found a mitigating trick.
Within 24 hours of the tint being applied, I parked it in the sun (as recommended) and when the film got more tacky, I was able to use my fingers to squeegee out a lot of the bubbles. It's not perfect, but is a lot better than when I first received my car back from the tinters. I love manuals too - but tend to do too many silly things when I drive them. One of my other cars is non-metallic black and I love that colour to bits... when it's clean. So much so I have to wash that car too often and decided to avoid my insanity with this car! |

I read about sanding the dot matrix off, applying a special glue and also using vinyl to cover them - dunno if any are worth trying! Don't really mind the look on the back windows but the front bothers be a little.

Space Grey looks awesome BTW - after seeing it in person do you prefer it to SGM? Curious as I really wanted SGM and did consider Space Grey for a while but chickened out and bought another black car (3rd one in a row). |
