AFE Magnum FORCE Stage-2 SI intake Review

So, finally ended up installing my AFE Intake Stage2-Si.
I am not too good in posting long threads so I'll do what I can.
If I have to describe it in one word it will be WOW

I took the standard black cover model as I am not a fan of carbon fiber looks under the hood. The install was very easy and the product is great quality. The MAF position is almost identical to the OEM intake and from other threads that I read on this AFE model should not cause problems(there is an adapter plate that has to be added on the Magnum FORCE Stage-2 PRO version).

For the ones that are saying that the intake doesn't give any difference in power I really don't know what to respond... It can't be just my imagination and placebo effect. I do have the BMS Powerbox so maybe it does help... The car now pulls harder and through the whole rpm range. The sound difference compared to the OEM one is not huge as this is a closed intake box version but there is a sound difference on WOT. It sounds eager and adds something extra combined to my BMW PE.

I personally do thing that it is a great alternative to an EuroBox.

Here is a picture (sorry for bad quality, iphone)

Did you add the box, before or after the airbox?

Just put an aFe stage 2 in my 2011 135i -- am going on a road trip this weekend, and should put plenty of miles on for the ECU to gather data. So far, it makes a cool nitrous-like whistle-psssst at shift points, and I think it's added some pop to the torque but I've literally driven it about 10 mi.

Will report in a few days...

I have the AFE magnum force stage 2 intake and at 3000rpm that thing roars louder than my magnaflow catback exhaust, literally. u can hear the rumble move from my exhaust to the engine bay. It sounds mean. And at 4000+ rpm both intake and exhaust just scream! First I installed the powerbox, then the exhaust, then the intake....the intake was like the missing piece to the puzzle and now my car surprises the hell out of people as far as the quickness. I have smoked a few 328's and I even raced a newer M3 which resulted in 140mph+ and the guy asking if my car was a 135. He couldn't gain on me, I was shocked! From an 80 roll we were dead even. From a 60 roll he had me by 1 car the whole time, but I should have downshifted to 4th. I stayed in 5th instead. He was an automatic, I am manual. Anyway I love that intake!

When you say newer m3, how new? I've had all these basic mods on my 128i and I can tell you it was no where near as quick a new m3. Lol

my guess is 06-08....had the dual exhaust close together in the middle. From a dead stop he would definately take me i'm sure, but at the higher speeds my car surprisingly stayed right with him. I had the pedal floored tho all the way in it. I told my girl to pull out her iphone to record it but she was too scared haha.....women

gotta drive it like u stole it man!!

EDIT: just googled some pics, may have even been an 04 M3. It was that body style anyway.

My sister's bf has a 5.0 I think it's like 90-92. I'm trying to set up a few runs with him, I want to see how I contend with that.

Yeah vs other 100% stock 3ers and stuff (not m3 of course) due to the short gearing (3.46) its an even match for a quick run

Any idea any performance gains if I were to just change the stock air filter to a say K&N (still using stock filter box) vs using a AFE Magnum FORCE Stage-2
