Someone actually listing the 1M for an appropriate price!
Going by the prices of the other cars, it seems that the 1M guys think their cars are immune to depreciation!

i just looked at car sales and there are 13 1m's on the market, then i had to check how old this thread was, same amount of cars as in january and pretty much same prices lol.

the ad for the 75k 1m looks really dodgy to me

i'd be extremely happy to get 85k for my 2011 model with 22k kms

Totally agree with both of you, alpine and ian.
although i do like to think my car is worth slightly more than 1.5k, but prob not much!

But sometimes i get the feeling some people simply list their car just to see if someone, on an off chance, will actually buy it at close to new prices.

Price is what someone is willing to pay for it. Stock 1M worth around $80k now IMO, but the keep selling for more

Does that car sales value thing actually use real life data on cars sold?

Garbage in = garbage out jk

When you sell on carsales iirc they ask for the sale price, IMO they use the old BS red book for their numbers.

Mine is listed there, obviously, I am prepared to negotiate within reason. Mine has a few extras and as such I think (to the right buyer of course) the car is worth a little more than the average. Also, there is only one other BSM for sale (been for sale for a year or so, at a stupid price) so that makes mine a little rarer and MAYBE worth a slight premium.

Again, the market will dictate or it won't sell.

We paid around $110K drive away for brand new.

The ones listed on Carsales are all 2nd hand, the price doesn't include on-road stamp duty (unless it's a dealer selling it).

On-road stamp duty in NSW is calculated at:
  • 3% of the market value up to $45,000
  • 5% on the value over $45,000.
