BMW Recall - What Loaner Did You Get? :)

I went to Crevier BMW in santa ana for the battery recall and I get to keep my loaner for about 5 days. They've got great service btw, damn. My car was also leaking but it's covered cuz she's a SULLIV yay
The guy tried to hook me up with a white on black 5 series but unfortunately it didn't have license plates on it so it was on a hard hold to be put out as a loaner. boo.
But I got a 2013 M Package Fuel Efficient f30 328i. Weird how it turns off when you stop. o_O But I love it!

What did you guys get as your loaner vehicle if you guys got one?
I know some of the vehicles didn't get loaners because it did not take too long for the maintenance.

Mine was just in for the battery cable recall and a new fan belt. I left the dealership with a brand new 2013 535xi. It was kind of a old(er) mans car but still super fun to flip through 8 gears and the Idrive was fun to play with as well. Should have taken some pics when i had her.

My dealer also gave me a 2013 328i sedan as a loaner when I went in for maintenance. Although it didn't have the M package, it did however have both the technology and premium packages. I went ahead and looked for the sticker in the glove box and to my surprise, the MSRP was a whopping 48k. I had no idea the pricing for 328i's has gone up this much.

I got a 3 series Hybrid. The price sticker is still in the car and it's $60,000. The electric motor only kicks in under 20mph.

2011 328xi as base as it gets. Non-sport or leather seats, auto, no nav no CA. Some of the most uncomfortable seats I've ever had to drive in.

No, shouldn't take more than a half day.

I didn't take my 1 in for the battery recall yet, but my other BMW....2002 525i had a defective BMW battery and I got hooked up with a 2013 550i 8 speed with the M package, while my car was in (my wife works there). This thing was awesome! Window sticker was in the glove box, too....72K!

I have yet to take mine in, wanna wait for the rush to calm down. Any idea of the actual fix they do? One would figure that replacing the whole cable would take hours.

I was also given a 2013 328i - non M package though. I felt like it was a base model, had no options.. seats were terrible, no navigation or bluetooth.. all the things that make a BMW a BMW were not there. :/

When i took mine in for turbos i had a 328 sport package, i was impressed with the power that it had for a 4 cyl. Also the black interior with red trim and red stitched seats was really cool and the key fob matched as well

'12 Active Hybrid 5 with Driver Assistance/Luxury Seating/Premium packages. I had a myriad to choose from, but wanted to try an F10. Thoughts as follows:
  1. Its a big car
  2. Not sure about the hybrid. The transition between battery and engine was sometimes abrupt.
  3. Active seats were "strange". I guess after a driving a long time they would help.
  4. The backup surround cameras were damn cool.
  5. Sport mode was "meh" …coming from a 135
  6. Luxury seats were ok, I like the sport seats in the 135 better.
  7. Visibility is better in the 135.
  8. The HUD is cool, just don't wear polarized glasses.
  9. Did I mention it is a big car.

I'm going to schedule my recall fix as soon as all the snow is gone (don't drive the 1er in the winter) and I'll post back with what I got as a loaner.

My SA told me it will take about 3 hours for the battery recall but he did offer me shuttle but not a loaner. Will they offer a loaner or I should request it to him? Since it doesn't even take a day to do the service.

Every time I've asked for a loaner they gave it to me, but I asked for it when I schedule my service, which likely pushed out my service date a bit further than I would expect. It's worth it for me though as I need a car to get to work and none of the things I'm bringing the car in for are major.

You can always ask.

I was refused a loaner at first. Ridiculous. I just moved to the area and Fields BMW in Orlando says they only give loaners if you bought the car there. They wouldn't even pay for a rental. I've never heard of such a thing, I've been to three different dealerships around DC and they all either give a loaner or give a rental. Anyways, they finally agreed to a loaner since I was "relocating" but said I would have to wait nearly 3 weeks to bring the car in!

Being the only stealership in town really sucks for the consumer.

Got a 2013 328i Vert. Really wanted a F30 sedan to play with but they were all out.

I continue to not understand why people want the "top down" expierence.
