surely a source that tunes BMWs for a living, wont point you to an AUDI tuner for your BMW right ?

I was wrong than, there were alot of skeptical numbers in the begining, 340, 330, 306, 302, and what not. I havent kept up with official numbers, 330 was just stuff i read a while back. So the numbers for europe are 306, and for us its 300? those the the official numbers? No need for name calling.

not so mate.... look at the size of the turbos (they are tiny) and the intercoolers, there is no dedicated heat exchangers, nothing for heavy duty turbos like the cayenne.. So a gain of 75bhp is out of the question! unless you want to have a burned out engine in 6 months

Also, to refute that the guy who started this post and his tuner friend who either don't have a clue or are blowing smoke at all of us or both.
I'm not trying to be argumentative either because I'm genuinely curious. You could say that because the N52/53/54 engines all have the same 91 mm bore spacings and open-deck construction as the M52/54 that they are based off the "old block" but this is not the case at all. Anyways, guess I'll just have to wait for more solid information to firm up. I'm sure there will be a whole ton of information available on this engine once it's out, along with an SAE paper or two hopefully.

I made one mistake about saying it has valvetronic. I am sorry this is an E90 board in which I have been reading religiously for the past year. I am going to prove all of you guys wrong. You have no idea of who I know and who they know at BMWNA. When I get my car and post some links then you will understand. I am the wrong guy to doubt guys...

i have a friend working at kelleners sport, not your average backyard tuner and they have stated that anything above 340bhp is pushing it.

A 4.5litre Cayenne bi-turbo obtains a maximum of 50bhp after a remap... you want to tell me that the 3.0l engine with no dedicated oil-to oil intercoolers will achieve 80?
You tell me how the B5 S4 2.7L Twin Turbo engine gets 80 HP and 80 LBS of Torque then??? www.awe-tuning.com

Let the 335 come out, then let the aftermarket tuners do their job.

Relax. We all agree the 335 is awesome. Most of us want one badly. And we cannot wait to drive the thing. I'm surprised no one popped the 'this thread is useless without pics' jingle. Most of us will not bother to tweak it, 300/300 is a lot of power. Personally I will be more interested in a weight loss program. 3500+ is too much IMO.

they offer a 60bhp gain. And since you have absolutely no idea on bi-turbo installs, have a look at the size of the turbos, the heat-exchangers, oil-oil coolers and the size of the intercoolers. See something funny the bi-turbo install in a bmw adds 50bhp, whereas the one in the audi adds more than 110bhp on the old incarnation of the 2.7l engine. And on top of everything this is S line not A line, it is sports biased

Me too. Weight is as important as HP, especially for handling.

I appreciate your questions and replies-it makes me research more and check my own statements. I would like to think that this forum is about passion and the exchange of ideas and information (even if it means having ones statements corrected).
you could very well be correct about the engine-I get back to you
