I averaged 10.1 l/100klms @ 120 kmh on a drive back from victoria to the sunshine coast

Fuel consumption is one these cars many strong points I reckon

No just that the car is not warm up yet by the time I arrived at work.

I guess it does seem a shame to use a great performance car like the 135i for short commutes in heavy traffic. I'm lucky to have a 25 km each way commute against the city traffic stream. That, combined with the occasional trip to the coasts (Goldie and Sunny), has given me an average consumption of 8.9 L/100 km over the past 4 years. On long trips, consumption is usually no more than 7 L/100 km.

For the type of motoring we do, the N52 has proven to be the ideal choice for us.

I logged my trip to work on Friday and this is what I got.

The trip usually takes me 30 to 40 mins but due to school holidays etc it only took me 11 mins.

Not sure how accurate the trip logger is because it sometimes jumps too 18L to 20L per 100kms.

The fuel economy I've been getting with the car has quite frankly been amazing and much better than expected running FBO + meth on JB4 map 6. I never actually had fuel consumption in mind during driving and only decided to have a check after reading this thread. I also drop the hammer whenever I get the chance (Pennant Hills Road M2 on ramp anyone?)

Over the last 4,500km, the car's been used for the Monday - Friday slog from the Hills to the city (albeit via the M2 which has been greatly improved), hitting peak hour in the mornings. The higher than normal average speed I'm getting tells a good part of the story.

I was a bit skeptical at first but every week the consumption has been verified at the pump. I'm getting a bit over 500km per tank before empty.
