lol. it definitely didn't keep it real. it looks like a car made for showroom browsers rather than people who are really looking for something with some balls to it. my guess is that it still won't sell well.....as a $50k 'entry level' BMW just won't stand up to the scrutiny of the illiteral buyer who will say "i can get a loaded 428 coupe for that much!".

Even though i don't like the M235....i still think it is waaaaaaaaaay better than the Lincoln-like 428 or 435 which has just grown way beyond the dimensions i would like to see in a 3-series (or 4-series..whatever).

i think we need a RWD "0-series" soon......i'd get in line for a 035is! lol

Glad you got 'em so quickly! Let us know if you end up switching out the "M Performance" badge for the proper PPK badge. And then post some pics, too! If anyone else needs the badge & sticker-set, let me know. If we get another 5 interested members, then I can place another order.

I am the proud owner of a new 2013 135i! I just traded in my 2011 328i on valentines day. It's got the M sport and tech packages and I also had them install the variant 1 PPK. Absolutely LOVE this car!!

Also meant to tell you that I like where you put your white sticker. I put my English-language sticker in the same place as yours.

I still want to add the German language one somewhere. I think that would be cool. Thoughts on where the German one should go??

Looks like it was left out in the sun and melted in weird ways. Why put the door handle in the middle of the crease/shoulder line? The side mirrors look like turds and like cheap $2 attempted knock offs of Audi S models and don't fit/suit the car. I actually like the big bulging rear tail lights, but hate how the trunk looks like the sign for Pi.

To make a long story short, I just placed my order for a glacier silver M235i with every option and am putting 313s on. Should be here around May 1.

So much for wit in brevity. I talk too much and type too fast.

Wait....you're kidding....right?

PROS:
- That estoril blue
- The brake calipers
- Slightly more modern interior
- No "sag" on the door panels

CONS:
- Bigger
- Heavier
- Stupid front fender M badging
- Electric steering rack
- Don't think you can opt out of nav package
- Rear end is gross
- Front end looks too much like everything else
- Not a fan of any of the wheel options
- Synthetic engine noise through the car speakers!

Hey, synthetic engine noise enhancements via your stereo speakers is a great feature. Maybe they'll add some sort of signal processing so you can pretend you're driving a V10 while you piddling around in your quiet little twinscroll turbo'd four banger.

Yes, don't worry, I was kidding. What "sag" in the door panels are you talking about? I actually don't like the brake calipers and for some reason they look much smaller than ours. The fronts on the M235 look the size of our rears. The performance brake kit though looks a lil nicer with prettier colored calipers. The brakes don't look like 6-piston fronts anymore though, am I wrong? They look like 4, which would explain why they look so much smaller than our fronts.

As for the nav package - it doesn't come with nav, but like the 3-series and such, you are forced into the giant ipad jammed into dash screen. But you still have to pay the $2500 or whatever for the tech/nav package. Otherwise, you get less of the screen being functional and looks like crap.

It'd be interesting to see what it looks like though with some more aggressive wheels or a set of 313s on there. Those wheels are awful.

My kid and I play little big planet karting and you have the option to select your engine sound and they have options like euro tuner or muscle car and there's one that sounds like a mosquito. Take note BMW.

Thanks, i want to place the german sticker on the inside of the door frame where the ppk install signature sticker would go but im not sure how it would hold up if it constantly got wet from rain/car washes.

Yeah pretty much agree perfectly with that pro and con list....I did have the opportunity to take a few pics of it this morning as it happened to be in the bay when I pulled in. And I think you are correct on the brakes but I'll have to check...the rears are the same size, the fronts do look slightly smaller.

As I look at the car more and more (sitting in our showroom right now) I really love the roof line...estoril blue is fantastic....and I like the front bumper (looks a lot like the 1m's to me)... And I wish we had an option on ours for a colored brake caliper. Other than that I can't help but just stare at the ugly rear....

I have not yet driven it, however, everyone who has said it was fantastic... May take it to cars and coffee in the morning and see for myself!

That's an interesting picture especially to show how estoril blue compares to lemans. I didn't realize it was that much "lighter." The picture also shows how much better looking our 313s are than the wheels on the M235.

Looking at them, I think the front looks weird to me on the M235 cause the lights are so big and stretched/pulled backwards compared to ours, which gives ours a much squattier/bulldog look on the front end if that makes any sense.

By "sag" in the door panels I mean that body line across the door that goes down and comes back up.

Got you. I have no idea what I'd call that curved line either. I can see why you are interested then in the performance sideskirts (if you still are). It would be a nice, more aggressive look if both the sideskirt and line on the door panel both were angled up and back like the sideskirts are.

It also makes washing the car a pain in the ass, as I have to open the doors during my drying process so that all the excess water doesn't collect at the bottom of the door in the middle of that curve. Now, where's that $300 air compressor?

And I hate how each time we open/close the door after washing the window then gets wet from going up/down that lil bit. So annoying. I should learn to do that trick they did when they tinted the windows so it stays all the way up when the door is open. That bottom 1/4" of the window is a pesky lil SOB to keep clean and streak free.

the E82 is a MUCH nicer design, IMO. it is a more 'classic' design harking back to old school BMWs.

this new 2 just looks like any other car....i honestly wouldn't know what it is if i saw it in my rear-view mirror.

GREAT pics btw!! thanks for posting.

True that. I can't open my windows for almost 2 days after a wash if I want the bottoms to stay clean. Speaking of washing, I'm going to have to do a spot wash with a spray bottle tonight on a few spots. I'm taping up my air dams and wheel wells for a car control clinic tomorrow. The tarmac at Candlestick Park is rough! I'll post some pics if I can.

I'll be curious to see your thoughts on the new TT design then when they reveal it in a few days at the Geneva Auto Show. Supposedly is both modern with throwbacks to the one you still have. If it's aggressive enough and perhaps if they drop a 290-300hp version of that turbo 4 engine into it that's in the S3 I might potentially take a look at a next gen TTS or TTRS down the road if an M2 doesn't come to fruition or doesn't meet my stringent standards.
