The N52 made the list. Not much to the article, although the mention is still pretty cool IMO.

I cant believe the N20 got higher on the list than the N52.... every loaner i ever had with that motor i hated. It not a nice sound, and i really didnt think power delivery was that impressive.

Agreed on the N20. It's really wheezy and sounds like a bag of week old farts.

BMW should have hung on to the N52, or continued it's development with cylinder deactivation for economy and focusing on power delivery (similar to what they did with the S54 from the M54) rather than pussing out with a FI 4-banger.

Comical if you think the N20 is a "better" motor than the N52. It makes more torque and is more fuel efficient, that's it. Doesn't change the fact that it's a crap motor in any application buy putzing around a city. And for a factory boosted motor, it's made of glass.
