Yes. I upgraded my base stereo to Alpine.
But i had this static issue prior to the upgrade.

What I'm curious about is how does the door chime work? Does it go through the radio or does it go directly to the speakers?
I feel it's a door switch grounding issue, if anything. ?

oh oh oh
if I can get this, http://www.bmw-planet.net/diagrams/r.../e87/index.htm
to work I might be able to trace this issue. Stupid Windows 10 being the issue now!!!!!

edit,
I fricking HATE HATE HATE Windows 10. Looks like I'm going back to 7 Pro.

If it's still happening with the HU out of the loop, then you've got me... Not sure how the chimes\gong work either.

Those wiring diagrams look cool, but I should think their working is more dependent on the browser you're using rather than the OS. If you're using that POS IE, have you tried Chrome instead?

I just bought my 2011 135i 2 weeks ago and noticed that noise the day after. I have the exact same noise as your video but louder, I can hear it even when engine is running. I'll try to get it fixed next week, hope we will find the source.

There is a defective radio issue from 2009 to 2014 that causes this electric humming sound, even with power off. It's associated with the connector within the radio loosing some connectivity. I just had my radio replaced with a new one and am very happy with the results. Nice and quiet when I get in the car.

I read about that newer HU available and was thinking I might have to shell since my car's out of warranty. $548 at ECS. Ouch...

Luckily just cycling the plug a few times worked for me...

There was a post I'd found, somewhere the other night that made mention of the optical cables being a bit loose in the connector and that caused a hum. Oddly enough it looks like all the radios have these cables. What for I've no idea.
Wiggling mine made no appreciable difference.

I was trying to think back if I had the noise prior to putting tweeters in my car and I just don't think I did.
So maybe it's something with the 'bass blocker'/crossover. The capacitor discharging. Add a diode to fix this ... maybe.

Pull the aerial cable too if you didn't...
