1M Melbourne newbie

Hi all, I’m now ready to formally join the 1 community as today I received my chassis number with build commencing this week. For those that have had their 1M’s already delivered you will remember the anxiety associated with all the waiting. You have already walked in my shoes and can appreciate my restrained excitement. Did anyone else feel that despite confirmation of the chassis number, the build date, shipping and delivery date you still can’t help think that something will or could still go wrong?

Nevertheless, the excitement goes up that extra notch and the 70 day countdown to delivery (1st May) formally commences. Why does it take so long? Is it really 2 weeks to build, 4 weeks on the water, up to 3 weeks in the bond yard plus a week safety net? Well that's the explanation I got.

Also noteworthy is that the final figure being brought in to Australia stands at 170 units (100 in initial allocation and 70 in the second). Do I know this with 100% certainty, well no, but I asked the question whilst dropping off my plates and they logged in to a computer system to provide the tally. Perhaps someone can validate this?

So congratulations to all those that have taken delivery of this “brilliant, brilliant, brilliant car” and to those that are waiting I hope time flies for you.

Welcome lexem and congratulations!

the wait sucks but there is not much else you can do other than surfing this site to hear the stories and listen to the banter hahahaha, you know dyno here dyno there

What was you choice of colour? I assume you went the no sunroof option in a manual, blue perhaps? ...... sorry don't mind me, time to go home i think.

Anyway happy waiting!

(go see Andrew at SouthernBM and see what he can do for you when it finally gets here, oh yeh, ask the dealer (no tell them) to get the PD detail done at Final Inspection, best in Melbourne, prolly Australia, for detailing)

PS. I am not paid/associated/or commissioned for making comments about either of these guys, they are just the best at what they do!!

2300km now. My 2012 push bike mileage is still ahead and it's all done in hilly terrain. Season ending challenge race in 2 weeks and I am bringing both rides to Falls Creek.

Welcome! Great choice I hear!

The wait is not too much fun, but as anyone here will attest - oh so worth it!

Thank you all for the warm welcome.

M1one1M my chassis number is WBSUR920X0VSxxxxx

Now off to a briefing by Infiniti Red Bull F1 honchos about the launch of Infiniti cars in Australia later this year. I know there's an invitation to the Melbourne GP waiting for me if I turn up

Thanks for the reply Lexem, I was actually referring to the last 6 digits to see whether your car and my car would be brother and sister as this would show how many cars before or after my car it is on the production line.

Enjoy your free ticket to the Melbourne GP, I'm jealous.

Cheers
