Go 225/40 F and 255/35 R and your options for both brands and models of tire increase about 5-fold over the oem size of 215/40 and 245/35.

You may want to consider the new Michelin or the Continental Extreme Contact DW. I've personally never liked Bridgerocks...and am happy that my oem run-flats are gone.

Yes...there's a complete other thread on these tire sizes.

I'm but one of many running it. Your choices for tires go through the roof as compared with the oem sizes.

I have exact OEM size rims and run 225/40 and 255/35 with no problems whatsoever.

What are you looking for in a tire? Bridgestones are okay.. but there are better options in my opinion (and again, it's an opinion).

Cheap tires - Hankook Ventus V12. Very good grip in dry.. ridiculously great grip in wet. Their downfall is that they don't "feel" as good as the other brands. Feel kinda mushy. I run these and I love em... except the mush. Can't be beat for the price at all. Oh and they're also inhumanly quiet and have a great tread life.

Expensive tires: Michelon Pilot Super Sports or PS3's. Pretty much the best of the bunch unless you move up to Super Cups or something that's not really meant for the street. Phenomenal dry grip, AND they feel great.

Here's a great comparison of 9 popular tire brands, done my Car and Driver:

http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/...mparison_tests

Note that the Hankooks actually outperform the benchmark Michelin PS2's (though the PSS and PS3's are now supposedly superior), but they also mention that they just dont "feel" as right.

Let's put it this way... BMW likes the michelin PS2's so much that they use them as the stock tires on M3s

Bridgestone's run flat tires are great as far as run flats go, but you will get better traction, generally longer tread life, a quieter and more comfortable ride, and a cheaper price by switching to non-run flat tires in general. But then again, you lose the 100 miles or so you can drive on the run-flat while it is flat and should probably invest in a 40 dollar patching/plugging kit.
