Front Sunshade?
Has anyone bought the Bavarian Auto Sport front sunshade or another brand?

My only problem with the BMW shade is the BMW logo on the front I didn't want advertise as people drove by my car in the parking lot.
Are the corners soft so they won't mar the dash?

The corner's aren't rough at all they are rounded and smooth. I like the advertising in the parking lot lol. It's nice to know that in my whole company there are only three people with BMW's. Me, the owner, and our marketing person's husband has one.

sI just ordered one. I have a special spot that I park in, but it faces due west with zero trees. aka black interior = roastie
I have the fan set to automatically run for 15mins on high before I leave for the day, that helps 10 fold.

Do you think the BMW logo is easily removable, like a sticker or something? I may want this as well, but really don't want the BMW logo on it.

Are both sides the reflective silver stuff? If so, the turning it around would work fine. If it is not reflective, then it would not keep the inside as cool, but would still be better than nothing.

I bought the one from BavAuto 6 years ago for my 325Ci. Now that I have my 135i it fits fine. One problem with the shade is it tends to crack over time. The foil like covering is coming off on mine. And leaves pieces in the car. The thing was $50.
I'll have to break down and buy a new one next spring. Not getting one now. |

The sunshade is reflective only on one side. The sunshade is thick and substantial. The edge is lined with a softer cloth so it should not damage the dash.
It comes with a decent vinyl storage case/sleeve. I do not think it would be easy to remove the BMW lettering but it is not something that I am bothered with as long as the sunshade does what it is supposed to do. |

Not trying to diss the shade but that shiney stuff cracks over time and flakes off. Like I mentioned in my post. That is of the same quality of the one BavAuto sells. Maybe if you put it the case every single time you use it.. might last longer and protect it. I think the key is to be careful to take your time and fold it properly. You would think it would last longer than 6 summers of use for $50.
