Help! Tire selection
First off, let me start out by saying I love my Nitto 555Rs when its dry. However, living in Louisiana, its warm almost the entire year but off and on showers. I need a good sticky dry tire, but something that won't feel like I'm hydroplaning when it's sprinkling or when the roads flood in a downpour. I've got some power going to the wheels so dry traction is just as important as wet traction to me. Tire suggestions?

Michelin PSS's or Bridgestone S-04's.

Thanks, compared the two but ended up liking the Conti DW. Also helped that Tirerack has the fronts on closeout. $700 for a set of 4 staggered 19s

Excellent choice...I was going to get some but I think I'm just going put the extra cash down on the PSS's come spring when I can legally run summer tires here in Germany.

Ran Laguna Seca in a downpour 2 weeks ago. No significant hydroplaning with the PSS. Had way more grip than expected. The DW's do hydroplane. The sidewalls are very soft and it deforms the tread to where it follows grooves in the road or where water wants to take it. I had zero driving confidence on these tires and replaced them after 3k miles. You will be extremely disappointed coming off Nittos. |

Hankook RS3
I had a set of RS2s on my 300Z and they were amazing at autocross and stable in the wet. I've heard/read the RS3s are even better.
