They didn't wreck a 1 series. They went to a salvage lot and picked an already destroyed one up for a prop.

Somewhat disturbing that our beloved 1's are now considered old and common enough to be a wreck prop in a commercial.

On a side note, this is the closest thing we've had to an actual front crash test video of our cars by an independent 3rd party in the US... so I can't get too upset.

Plus, the guy didn't have a scratch on him... I'd say that alone deserves 5 Stars

I'm quite the opposite, couldn't decide whether to get the new Xbox or the PS4 but seeing my favourite car in a Playstation commercial lured me that much closer to purchasing a PS4.

Xbone (Xbox One) is a POS and I'm not buying one. I had a 360 since it came out and enjoyed it ever so. I had a PS2 before that and loved it as well. M$ is going into full retard mode and are never going to recover.

PS4 is the new gen of console that I would only think about buying if I were to. But I'm not as I'll keep my MW2 360 until something better comes out years down the road.

Oh and they wrecked a 1er.....oh well, they destroyed GTOs in numerous movies and TV shows and those are few in numbers when they were in production. Even though I hardly seen any 1ers and GTOs out on the road.

+1 on getting a PS4.

I am telling you guys, I highly doubt they bought and wrecked a 1 series. They likely bought a wrecked 1er and just propped it up. It costs a lot of money to wreck a car for a TV commercial (believe it or not) and if it is offscreen damage and not a story specific car they wont do it.

and even if they did do it - the 1er died well.

I don't play games, but my 10-yr old son has already asked me to pre-order the PS4. I showed him the video and he thought the 1-series wreck was pretty cool.

They didn't wreck it. Look at the passenger airbag area on the dash, the airbag door is busted open but there's no bag. It's a scrapped car.

It's like BMW eliminating standard keys and requiring internet connections to start our cars. In order to continue driving after 24 hours, you need another authentication.

Obviously that is a really elaborate exaggeration, but I'm proud of it.

PS4 for me.
