Harness bar option for the 1er

I am in the market for the harness bar and the only thing I found was BRracing but they don't have in stock neither ETA. Anyone guide me to the right direction?

You're going to be hard pressed to find a harness bar for the 1-series. BR Racing is pretty much it and the only other reputable company I know that produces harness bars is Brey Krauss but they only have something for 3-series (E36/46/9x). VAC does offer a nice half cage for the 1-series. The cage itself is welded together but I'm not sure if it's bolt-in or welded install to the chassis. I've seen this cage in person and it's beautifully crafted.

On a side note, assuming this is for track use (since you posted in the track section), just make sure whichever club/track you intend on driving with allows harness bars.

I will actually be taking my harness bar out to accept a full roll cage if you're interested?

I really like the BRracing. I am mostly use for some track day and since I have recaro seats already just want to add the harness bar so I can use the harness. I saw The brey Krauss on the E46 is not bad though. I wonder the one they made for E92 fit into E82 since we sharing a lot of parts

BK is one of the best fabricators out there, you should call and see what's up, maybe they'll consider making one if there's enough demand.

TC Designs out here in the bay area made mine. It is far superior to the BR racing bar in many ways. Shipping from here to you would be around $300 if you proceeded with one.

It would cost around $2500-3k. Its a good price for a well built bar. Your other option is VAC which is around the same price.

You said you run Recaros, but have you seen the Schroth Quick Fit Harnesses?

If I'm understanding you correctly, your decision is based on the coolness of the bar rather than the safety? The Schroth Quick Fit is DOT tested and features ASM (anti-submarine) technology that is proven safe. I'm not arguing the safety of a quality harness bar but if your decision is based on the look, then maybe you should invest in the higher dollar bar for your safety.

I see nothing wrong with running the Schroth Quick Fit harnesses if you main objective is to firmly secure you in your seat, SAFELY. I've run them in my last two cars and currently running them in my 1er. I know your post was a bit tongue-and-cheek but your safety on the track shouldn't be.

I'm sure I'll get blasted for this but I would rather see a fellow enthusiast like yourself make the safe decision. Didn't mean to sound preachy... good luck in your decision.
