Okay to put Zaino on chrome & headlights?

I just got my TiAg 330i this past weekend

and I'm planning on detailing it for the first time this coming weekend.

I'm going to be using Zaino (Z-2 Pro/ZFX, alternating with Z-6). I'd like to put it on everything but the glass, if I could. Is it okay to put it on the chrome trim & exhaust tips, and plastic headlight & tail light covers?

By the way, what does everyone here like for cleaning chrome?

Zaino should only be applied to surfaces that have clearcoat. Chrome is not a problem. I have not applied zaino to the headlamp covers though. For more accurate info, ask Sal Zaino via email or call him...

Yes, you should not have a problem with chrome and headlights. It actually works quite well on those surfaces.

Forgive me for being naive, but what are these obvious reasons? Does it make the glass hazy or something?

Thanks to everyone here for all the helpful tips (in this thread and others). Before reading this forum I knew very little about detailing--now, thanks to you guys, I know about Zaino, sheepskin wash mits, mf towels, etc.

What does everyone use to clean the chrome exhaust tips? I'm assuming those will get super dirty. Is regular wash soap enough to clean them to a shine, or do you guys use something specific?

It's because of the effect the polish has on the wipers. One of our members made that mistake.

I just use regular car soap for the exhaust tips.

I've always waxed the outside of my windows with great success (using that Nu-somethingorother 1 year stuff), and used the film of wax on the applicator to treat my windshield wiper rubber as well. The wax does wonders for repelling water from the windows (especially at speed in the rain), and while some may argue the wax is a bad idea for the rubber on the wipers, I've done it repeatedly over the years, and I'd estimate I only purchase a set of wipers every 3 years or so (no less). In fact, the other day I got to thinking about the last time I purchased wipers for my current vehicle (they've finally started to leave streaks), so I looked it up on the computer, and it was 5 years ago.

Curious though...are there better solutions out there?

Rain-x for the windows is the best i've even seen. it will prevent smudgin of water as well. Even on the side windows its greta because it helps water bead up and fall off the window instead of just making the entire thing blurry
