Upstate NY Walnut Blasting

I am thinking about renting a media blaster from Bavauto to do my valves, wondering if anyone else would be interested and want to split the cost.

Looks like the rental would be $261.97 shipped, and then $29 per bag of walnut media. Rental is for 21 days

Has anyone ever completed the valve blasting DIY before? It would be sweet to have some guidance for my first time doing this.

Where upstate are you located? If your not to far from the city I will be more than happy to help with the rental cost. I must say I have never done it before.

I live near Rochester. I found someone local with the media blaster, I am working with him on completing the kit.

Don't bother renting, you can buy the whole setup for $250 shipped.

Just need an air compressor and vacuum.

Hey Snertz,
I was wondering if you know anyone offering walnut blasting at a reasonable rate?

Nothing better than getting a nut blast for the cost of materials.... looking at under $100 now that I found a local n54 guy with a majority of the kit!!!

Think of all the walnuts that had to die in order for your intake valves to be clean.

Normally a "nut blast" would have a different meaning.

I live near philly and an Indy shop here will do it for $500. Seems reasonable considering it is only needed every 50K.

They charge $600 at my local shop, the kit is literally worth the investment... Under half the price and you can make money by performing the service for other cars to pay the equipment costs off
