One of two: Dunlop SP Sport or Hankook V12 EVO
I can buy a set of BMW 313s with one of the two for a fair price. As I am customed to Michelin SP2's on my Breytons I wonder which of the two would match the best against the Michelins. Thanks!

I've had Dunlop SP Sports many times on many cars and never liked or hated them. I for sure risk it based on reviews and go for the V12s.

Hankook Ventus V12 hands down.
Best bang for your buck tire set! I think it came 2nd to the Michelin PS2 in a motortrend or car and driver test. I have them on my Volks and I absolutely love them for daily driving And if you're comparing these to Michelin tires than that's like comparing apples to oranges. 1. I paid than $600 for the Ventus V12 tires 2. It's close to $900-$1000 for a set of Michelin PS2 or about $800 for the Michelin PSS 3. It's for daily driving. If I was going to get serious with track tires than I'd take the money I saved and put it towards some slicks or whatever. |

I thought the grip with the Hankooks was pretty decent. The sidewalls were noticeably soft however, so I ran slightly higher pressures and this helped. I only noticed this during autocross however, on the street they were great. For daily driving they plenty of grip, and I would doubt you would often notice the soft sidewalls on the street. They are pretty quiet and good in the rain as well. I had the runflat version of Sp Sport 01 on my car and I was very dissatisfied with them.

i was underwhelmed with the dunlops. another nod for hankooks. their grip is superb for their class and price. with 235/265 hankooks, my car will pick up its front inside tire on some turns (to illustrate the amount of grip). sidewalls are definitely on the soft side, so not an ideal auto-x tire, but they did better than i expected on the track, and more importantly, they're great on the street. awesome in the wet too. overall awesome tire.

Price for the 313's 2 x18x7.5 225-40 and 2x18x8.5 245-35 with tires (Dunlop SP Sport 01 RSC) : 1750€. Without tires 1350€. 4 Dunlop's for 400€. Not the best tire, but not bad at all.
