How Long Did It Take BMW NA To Send Your "Welcome Gift" ?
BMW usually sends you some GREAT "Kits" soon after you get your vehicle.
What are they sending out for 2010 and how long has it been taking ? Anything specific to the "1" ? Joseph

I didnt even get that, I got an email with a link to a survey that didnt work, lol. I did meet some really cool people at the dealership and a cute Polish chick at the place that bought my old car. |

As an '08 owner, I received the "Year One of the One" book, and a welcome gift including some other little booklet and DVD's. At my first year anniversary, I received the artist's sketch of the 1er coupe. I've heard that you receive some sort of BMW pen for the 2nd anniversary.

I got a letter saying "since we sold you a real risky HPFP were going to warranty it for a bit longer so WHEN it DOES go out you won’t have to pay. You will just have to drive you car to the dealership when they are open and since they don't have weekend service hours you can take off work. They'll put you in a PT Cruiser rental since you will hear their sob story about how they are all out of BMW loaners.
When you come back we will both inform you that you have no warranty since you probably have 3rd party software and lots of mods. But we will somehow try and make you feel that we have spared your life in still replacing the HPFP free of charge. So go now and have a nice life." Yeh, I got that letter.... Oh and some stupid Year 1 of the 1 book even though mine isn't a year 1 model just a 1 model. And later a pack of CD's and DVD with a paperbacked book. Who collects CD's anymore?

Has anyone listed to the Al Gore environmental CD that came with one of the gifts? Does it get louder when you floor the gas pedal to compete with the screaming engine?

I believe it is sometimes up to the dealership if you are to get anything. I could be wrong though. I received a 400 dollar Bose speaker setup from my audi purchase and I believe it was my sales guy who hooked that up. I got a keychain with my name on it from my ED pickup of my 1 series and a BMW hat for my 335 Coupe...hmmmm. The gifts pour in, though, with the more you buy from them...including the cool carbon fiber pen after the 3rd car.

I got the Year One of the 1 book just a couple days ago, so I guess it was about 1.5 months since I bought it. Seems pretty cool, havent read through the whole thing yet. I also got an extra set of floormats cause the dealer shipped me two sets by mistake.
I wonder if they'll send me anything else... Just for comparison sake, when I bought my 2004 R32, VW sent me a numbered poster. Car also came with a pen and keychain with R32 logos on them. The keychain I got from the BMW dealer was junk, used it for about a week but got tired of it knocking against the dash with every movement of the car... The book seems pretty well put together, nice photos, high quality paper... Can't frame a book and hang it on my wall tho... |

GREAT... Exactly. So their thinking is in line with a vast majority of the worlds Scientists rather than Most Big Business, Big Oil and "Experts" in the field like Rush Limbaugh. Wake up.
