New 5 series launch night

I think I am one of many thousand invited by BMW Melbourne. I saw most of the sales from the dealership but wonder WAY went coz I did not see him (he is easy to spot and the venue is close to his work).

Anyway, too many people so only a few decent shots.

Look at the spec... I want a V8 at 528i's price!!!

The high grade leather is absolutely gorgeous.

I like David's demo of the antiroll bar adjustment. This creates an absolute flat cornering and I like this. The self parking is old tech but I want and the suspension setting is cool too on the upspec 535i. No real V8 on show, most of that are the N55 twin power so I did not take a pic (should have).

Enjoyable nights. Lucky I had dinner before as they have lots of alcohol and finger food only. Otherwise, I will go over limit very easily.

Wow, 300kw and 600nM from a 528i! That's awesome!

0-100 in 5.2... think I will trade the 135 in for one :-D

I had a mate that did the night in Perth as part of the 'crew'.

He had VERY negative things to say about the BMW staff unfortunately

Regardless, that 528 is just sick.

528 with some options not even Sat Nav is 132k. It is actually only 3L with 190kW.

535 is our 135 engine n55 fully optioned for 180k retail. 6.1s I think. 225kW.

Haha it's also got a 4.4L V8. I wonder what the 550i is sporting then...

@Tay, yep 8 speed auto tranny! Apparently it kicks dirt in the faces of all the dual clutch set-ups. The torque converter isn't dead yet.

I was chatting with the pretty sales lady Leah pretty much the whole time at pre drink. She presented the white 5 series on the right of us. I know David too.
