Total newb here, but about ready to try this for the first time. Once I update the ECU parameters, how long can I expect the update to the vehicle to take? I have a 2014 F10.
Thanks! -Mark |

About 90 seconds to write changes to ECU.

Shawn,
Can you link me the latest data files? I'm assuming I'll need to recode my car, it's in the dealer now and she said this: "Yes, entire car was updated, not just the brake data. Old integration level: F020-13-03-503 New Level: F020-14-03-503" Sounds like a FULL update right? as in my settings are gone and I need to recode? Also from the last time I coded, I couldn't get the Sport Displays to work, they would show up but wouldn't function properly, did you all figure out how to actually enable it? Thanks! You received a Full Integration Level Update. This does not necessarily mean all ECU's received new Firmware though. Only those with newer firmware than what you already had would receive new firmware, and only those ECU's would need to be recoded.
As for Sport Displays, there is nothing to figure out. It either works, or it does not. Yours though may be working now after receiving new firmwares. PM sent.

is a way to code it but the software version may be entirly different and that is where it problem is. Ordered a coding cable, will ask for SW in due time. And just a geek question:F10 has it F30 unknown? still to be descovered? |

I think F30 with KAFAS and factory equipped HBA do not have the FLA_AUTO_AKTIV in their CAFD either, so I do not think it is a software version issue.
In F30, many people have looked for FLA_AUTO_AKTIV or the equivalent of it, and it has not been found.

Heard that the parking sensors of the X5 series operate in such a way that PDC will automatically turn on when the car speed is below certain threshold... then turn off when the car exceed certain speed.
Wouldn't it be great if we can find / code this on our beloved F30s? |

Great so I bought the patch/token solution a year ago when I got my car, haven't used it since basically, today I received the car back from the dealer and lost some coding, getting ready to re-do it and of course it expired 9 days ago <EST NotValidBefore="2013-04-22" NotValidAfter="2014-05-12">
Do any providers sell extensions or something I don't need another year at 60$++ to recode the car in all of 10 seconds ;\ Also, Do I upgrade e-Sys or uninstall and re-install the new version of it? |

I wouldn't be too torn up about it. If you coded your car only one time, and it cost you $60, you still got your monies worth in my opinion. There are people selling a single coding session for twice that much.
You will have to talk to your original Token solution supplier, and see what deal you can get. To update, uninstall old E-Sys through the Windows Control Panel, and delete old PSdZData folder.

You have link for 3.24.3. Why do you want older 3.23.4?

I said I don't think there is a software difference that allows FLA_AUTO_AKTIV, as it does not appear to be an option even in factory equipped HBA cars, using either KAFAS Camera or stand alone FLA Camera.
I am not sure what you mean about no hardware, as there are 3 control units involved, KAFAS, REM, and SZL. FLA_AUTO_AKTIV is just a workaround for not having the factory switch to enable and disable HBA. I am not sure what disassembling the lights would accomplish. If I wanted it to work, I would just add new SZL so I had the correct switch for it.

See the other post: BMW Coding Database.
Or do a Google search on exactly this, and install the software. Personally, I've created my own Excel spreadsheet with all the pertinent info I've got from this and other threads. And, when the car needs to be recoded, I use it.

Very nice !
I have yet to try Launch Control on my car. What I've added over your list that was a must for me (and a damn to the tailgaters when I have my wife and kids): Rear Fog lights.
