Girl: What the fuck, is that a donkey in the corner?
Tom: Oh, yeah, don't mind him he just likes to watch. His name is Zippy.
Girl: Okay, but if Zippy's going to watch it's going to cost extra.
Tom:
LOL!!!

The wimmin, well, the girl at the dep is cute and she loves cars (training to be a mechanic), and then there's my wife. The rest are well, woof woof!

Hey guys my lowly RWD 325 got me to work no problemo today. I floored it out of my garage (my driveway is a semi-steep incline down towards the house-garage is basement level). The top half of my driveway was solid ice. The car simply slid into the street on the force of the initial acceleration.

From there (street), I turned off the DSC and off I went, not a problem.

I am starting to feel no regrets about my Audi's AWD in winter.

Hope the rest of you had a good driving day today (it did take me twice as long to get to work).

I had no problems today... a little ice on my street but after that it was just wet pavement. Traffic seemed lighter than usual in both directions.

I always just turn off the DTC (not just when it's slippery). You held down the button and went with nothing? You're a brave man.

Stew, you are a sissy!! Good pic though.

Yeah, I do that when I know I am not going to go fast. Start in second gear, go very slowly around corners and a little slide just helps complete the turn. I find that when I only push it once (DTC off) the nannies still kick in around turns, cutting gas and doing the ABS dance). But I am exagerating my driving abilities since my top speed yesterday was about 45 km/hour.

Tom knows about charging thru life without the DTC....it's called bareback, although I'd question when he uses that strategy

Me, a sissy? How did you know (16" wheels dead giveaway)?????

NOW IT'S GETTING INTERESTING

The BMW Canada site has just posted the schedule for the driver training courses.

I am definately taking the Advanced II course and 85% sure that I am taking the Perfection course.

June dates that I am interested in are saturday June 10 for the Advanced II and Saturday June 18 for the Perfection.

Anyone else from Montreal/Ottawa interested ? It would be fun to meet again and take the course together.

Let me know either here or PM me.

Okay, stew this was *almost* becoming a respectable thread again.

I'm in for any and all BMW driver training courses. I'll confirm when the date is closer. Thanks for the heads up. I hope they've upgraded their cars to E90s over the winter.

Is it just me or are there suddenly E90s EVERYWHERE. When I got my car I would be surprised to see a few a week other than my own. I must have seen 10-15 today.

Is Wal-Mart having a sale on these things or something?

On our way in to the car show today I saw a SG E90 on the 40 going the other way.

In the parking at Palais des Congres I was feeling all special in my E90 and there is a 330xi parked about two spaces from me......oh well.

The car show was GREAT, I really enjoyed myself and so did the girls.

There are two black E90s on my street and I saw an Artic E91 pulling in the parking garage across the street. The secret is out... these puppies are a good buy. I better buy that donkey quickly.

Glad to hear the car show was fun. I've been a corporate slave lately, off to Toronto Friday morning.
I'm driving this time though, in my baby.... wheeee! I'm looking forward to it.

BTW... almost 4 months after buying this car the novelty has still not worn off. I still thoroughly enjoy driving the car every day. I actually savour the drive to/from work. It's amazing. I can't wait for the BMW driver training this summer. What a great product.

I agree. I love my car, even though there are now 4 in my neighbourhood and 5-6 in my garage at work.

I also look forwar to the driver training courses.

I was chatting with the guys at the BMW stand, some frmo Whitby, some from local dealerships, and in regards to xDrive I told them that I pray for snow every night before bed...they were laughing but that is almost the truth, xDrive is so good.

Your buddy Gary was there, he teased me about who really owned my 3 year old's stuffed cow, Moo moo....and my guy, Martin was there....the poor sods HAVE to put in 4 twelve hour days, including two weekends.....brutal I tell ya....

Like the auto show as well, a good deal of prototypes from different manufacturers (Some were abominations but then it's always fun to have a good laugh), it was a good year for these.

Volvo's absence didn't weight much I guess, seeing the affluence of people there...! Besides, that's a lack of respect towards their consumers so everybody's all the best without them.

As for the new car effect of the E90, I'm lucky to live in an area where they are so rare... In six months of ownership, I think I only saw 10 or so E90s. When you change car, there's always this tingling feeling at the back of your head that maybe, just maybe, you'll regret the car that is departing... Well, that feeling didn't last long with the E90. About the time to open the door and sit in it.

My favorite prototype was the Saturn Sky, which of course is a done deal this spring.....the GM Hydrogen SUV was comical...the CTS (low end ) was cheap inside, just like they say...the Dodge section is a big turn-on for me, the Charger SRT-8 is a brute and the 1500 pickup (red) is very cool (put a lotta donkeys in the Mega Cab!)...Hyundai Sonata is very clean and well made....the Avalon is tacky, and I didn't even bother to visit Honda, Lexus or Infiniti....and the Nissan Xterra is still the coolest SUV on the planet!!

In the "Environment" section there was a BMW 120d on display....I want one!!

My 4-year-old's favorite car is the Red Mini, and my 3 year-old's is the $145,000 Individual edition M5 with the red leather!!! Yoiks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think part of my passion for cars comes from driving one that is so rewarding to drive every single day....
