Impromptu dyno day at Speed Concepts

UPDATED with Josh135 and That1Guy's video pulls below

Well, last friday JK135i, that1guy, Josh135 and I did a little trip to A shop called Speed Concepts located in Ludwigsburg. Wanted to see finally what all the hard work on our cars had netted.

For those who don't know or remember, back at this year's Welt meet, the owner of Speed Concepts was the guy with the Matte White 135i with Porsche BBk's up front. Very friendly guy and helpful with advice and answers to our questions.

http://www.speed-concept.de/

Well, for me my goal has always been to hit 400HP at the wheels. Currently, my mods are:

JB4
BMS Dual cone Filters
ETS 7" intercooler
Stett CP with Tial BOV
Coolingmist Meth injection Kit with CM10 nozzle
AR Design Downpipes (Catless)
N55 Mids with AEM A/F ratio Gauge
Berk Technology Street Perf. exhaust
RB Turbos PCV valve upgrade
AR Design OCC

The Dyno was a Dynojet Research which showed on the graph (Below) Wheel HP (left) Clutch HP or crank HP (Right). Torque is below.

All pulls were done in 4th gear. Pull #1 was a test pull on Map 5 (Sorry no baseline numbers), Pull 2 was Map 5 No Meth, Pull 3 was Map 5 with Meth and Pull 4 was Map 3 with meth. Needless to say......ACHIEVEMENT UNLOCKED!!!

Converted from PS at this site (http://locost7.info/converter.php) 410 Whp / 475Wtq. Now to work at getting to 450

All in all, a very nice day.

Nick

I was the lonely N55 out of the group, and the least amount of mods, but still decided to hop on and see where I was sitting at for now. I have heard tons and tons of people being disappointed about "low" numbers for the N55, but oh well.

My current mods:

AR 4" Catless DP
BMS intake
MadDad Exhaust
JB4 Stage 2

So with only a few mods I was hoping to hit around 350.

After a few pulls testing 4th on different maps, we decided to go to 5th gear to test it out. Turns out that my speed limiter hits before the end of the pull, so I know there are higher numbers out there, just gotta do some tuning to find them.

Anyways, my pull in 4th Gear on Map 2 was my best pull. I put 342 RWHP

Awesome day.

if anyone feels underwhelmed at not putting enough power to the ground...please feel free to contact me. I am sure swapping cars for a day or a week will set you straight

I'm actually the opposite, happy as can be after all the bad things I had heard about N55..... I think with my small current modset, those numbers aren't bad at all.

Ok I was about to offer a day in my 116d, but not even that is as slow as a E8x 16i...

Like I told nick, ignore the "clutch" numbers that are on there. That's inaccurate. David in your case 362 crank would be 307 whp since the 135 runs about a 15% drivetrain loss. I don't know why that number is even there. Just look at the whp number.

Just as a side note. 342 whp is around 400-410 crank

JK called and set something up with the guy, they were really cool with us. I'm sure if you called him he would set something up with you ASAP.

I put down 443 HP and 512 TQ. David guessed 443 HP prior to my car getting dynoed, pretty damn good guess. I'll be dynoing the car when I get home so I can see what the difference is being back stateside.

I was running 30% E85 on this run. For those that has the tune to run E85, do it!

Thats awesome, great numbers for a DIYer versus buying a tuned package! Nice.

And now you know how I left hand print indentations on his passenger side interior door handle. Does the term "BATSHIT FAST" ring a bell?
