Maybe this is for me (1series)
After less than 2 yrs of owning a CPO328i and loving every minute behind the wheel, this: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...=758304&page=1
Now, im in search of my next BMW and im really contemplating a 128i or a Vert. Any one here made this switch and happy or regreted it? I do know is a matter of taste and a test drive to make the final descition. Just like to know some of your opinions. Lou.

I switched from an E46 M3 to a 128i. Not nearly the same power but the handling with the sports package is actually better. Not regretting the decision and I saved a ton of money by not getting an M.

I think there are many people here who have switched/jumped from a 3er to a 1er. The 1er just handles better and has a more nimble lighter feel to it. I think you might find this article an interesting read.

In 2009 I went from a 335i to a 135i and was thrilled. I then allowed myself to get caught up in the HPFP frenzy and went to a Audi A5. Very good car, but not a BMW and in particular not a 135i. Thanks to an understanding wife, I now have a 2012 135i and I am again thrilled. I believe the 1 series is the best BMW currently being made and I hope to have my 135i for a long, long time.

White Black or Red 128i
Terracotta Interior, or Black if Red Car 6MT Sport Premium .. Prob the best single keeper of a car i could think of from any current manufacturer. Gas prices, style, everything. Such an amazing car.

My wife has a 328i and I drive a 128i so I can compare them often. The 328i is fun, but the 128i is more fun for me... Smaller, nimbler, but same great engine. I prefer mine every time.

As my sig says, I have come to the 135i from a series of newer BMWs, a 2011 X3, a 2009 M3 Sedan, and a 2008 535xi. I also briefly had a low-kms, 3 yr old (at the time) 2007 328xiTouring.
I find the 135i to be the best combo of reasonable price to buy and run, fun to drive, light and nimble to handle and always entertaining on the street of all those recent BMWs - yes, including the M3 Sedan which was actually less fun in town than my 135i. Admittedly the M3 would run away and hide from a 135i on the hiway, but how often can you do that before your license is toast. My current plan is to keep this 1er a long time. It is one of the best cars BMW makes today. Period.

I will hopefully take delivery of my 2008 135i early next week. What it reminded me of on my test drive was my old E36 325is I had years ago. My last E90 330i was a great car but they have grown. I think the size of the 135i is reminiscint of the earlier 3 series cars.

Now, I never owned a 328i but drove it as a loaner for 8 days, no comparison, the 128 wins hands down in the fun factor. But make sure you get it with the sports package, great seats and the suspension is so much better.

Others may disagree, but I would avoid 2008s. Why risk it?

I could not resist this
got me a 1995 E320 Cabrio. 55K on the clock, clean title, maitenance records, garaged and one fun car to drive. Still turns heads and I get lots of complements.
No car payments and easy on the gas. Very happy

you will miss the extra two doors if you carried passengers. Other than that you will be more happy with the performance of the 1 over the 3.
