There pointless. They are only bright in pitchblack darkness and its really unecessary.

If you are having that much trouble finding the door handle, have your interior lights turn on when you unlock your doors, which should provide enough light to find the door handle. Either that, or get glasses. |

They are not intended to find the door handle. They are intended to help see the ground below the door while getting in, to avoid among other things - puddles. That is why they are called 'puddle lights'.
I have them on my Canadian M-Sport package without the premium package. I never would have thought to order them, and they were a surprise when I discovered them. (I also got the visor lights, and heated seats). I smile every time I unlock the doors at night when they come on. Could I live without them? Of course, but if you have them they are nice - especially when opening the passenger door for a lady. |

I have them on my 1 and 3, I can't imagine having the car without them...I mostly like them for the looks. I get tons of compliments and people saying "Wow that's awesome", also helps see the ground at night. They are pretty bright on my cars.

Yep! Back in the good old days when men settled disputes 'honorably' by duel with firearms. Ahhhh, what grand times indeed that must have been.
Now you have to hope and pray that someone tries to mug you in order to legally discharge a in public. :sarcasm: |
