Dumb question about e90 bluetooth - work with multiple phones?

My gut tells me the system will only recognize one phone, but I wondered if I got my wife a bluetooth phone, would we be able to set up the system to pair with her phone when she drives the car?

I believe it works up to 4 phones. You just change the order of the phones if more than one is in the car.

Yep, and it works great. My phone is primary in the E90 and wife's phone is primary in the E91.

I have 2 cell phones paired with my e90 and it works well. From my experience the car will pair with the phone that was closer when the the ignition was first turned on or with the phone with the stronges signal.

I've also paired multiple phones.

Interestingly, if the #1 phone on the list is powered off and the #2 phone is active, the car will pair with #2. If you then turn off #2 and turn on #1, it will, of course, pair with #1.

But if you leave #2 on and paired with the car and then power on #1, the car will not enforce the priority you've established and disconnect from #2 and pair with #1.

Not really a flaw, IMHO. And I realize I probably need to get a life instead of playing with Bluetooth so much.

Hahah! No, you are doing it for the science! BMW would love to hire you as part of the quality assurance/control team! Somebody has to find flaws somehow...

As I recall, the system will pair with the latest cell phone to be paired. If it isn't available it will pair with the next and then the next and then the first since there can only be four paired. If you pair a fifth, the first is deleted.

Doesn't matter much to me. I only talk on one phone at a time.
