Everyone tells me not on a 135i. I used the 16" OEM wheels from the 128i convertible as my winter wheels on a 128i coupe, but you cannot use 16" wheels on a 135i because the brake calipers are bigger or something like that.
I'm buying 17" winter tires for the 135i, (4) 205/50 R17 size. I'm going with Nokian Hakkapelliita R runflats, $269 each, but Tire Rack has a very compelling option in the Bridgestone Blizzak LM-25 RFT for $149 each |

www.1010tires.com have a 17x7.5" steel rim with an offset of 50mm (a standard fit for a Honda Ridgeline), which is a bit high for a 135i (47mm with a 17x7.5" wheel is a correct fitting), but should fit without clearance issues, although it could be made to be a better fit with 3mm or 5mm spacers and longer lug bolts. It doesn't say what the centre bore size is for this wheel, though, so it may have too small of centre hole or may need a hub-centric ring. This wheel would still need to be test-fitted to see if it clears the brake calipers on the front. 205/50-17, 215/45-17 or 225/45-17 tyres would fit this size of rim. Also, Canadian Tire show 17" steel rims on their website, but it doesn't give any info about offset, bolt pattern or centre bore size. |
