Race Gas? 105oct + 93oct

Hey just doing some research about race gas and how it would work with maybe 50/50 105oct and 93oct unleaded.
I normally run 30/70 E85 and 93 but E85 has messed/f**k up my LPFS injectors spark plugs and always triggers Fuel Pump code 2AAF.

I'm using JB4 G5 board with ISO20D
thinking about using Map5 don't really trust Map7 and i don't wanna fill up the whole tank.

Please let me know your thoughts!

I don't believe it would be any sort of problem on map 5....just make sure you drive the car around for ~30 minutes or so before going WOT....

I feel you on getting rid of the E85. Had an injector start to cause a misfire while I was using E85 for a month straight - not 100% sure if it was the E85 or not, but that pain in the ass alone caused me to stop bothering with it regardless

Yea man I have a early 08 so 4 of the injectors were replaced with the fuel pump for a recall but the car has been idling crazy hard at red lights and cold starts so idk if thats from E85 but those things are 217ea x6. I've put my car back to OEM and got them all replaced under CPO so not goin to risk messin them up.

Terry has said if the choice is an E85 mix or a race gas mix go with race gas, as long as its unleaded.

The reason you're having problems with your e85 is because the cars PCM has no idea that you're using it. The mix is all wrong. However if you tune specifically for it, something that the jb4 can't do the way its set up now, you can use it and have no problems. E85 is 105 octane and is significantly cheaper than race gas...

You are behind on firmware. Upload 24C.hex with interface 051313 & run Map 5 but watch the mix %. The stock fuel pump goes south over 6.5/7 gals of E85 in a full tank of premium.

If you want to run high concentrations of E85 you need to replace the stock pump with a Wallbro?sp unit for increased flow & add the BMS back end flash.

That being said I was good with 6 gals E85 on Map5. I prefer a 60/40 93/100 mix on Map 6. Cost is about $25 extra per tank over straight 93 & puts me near 400whp with just a tune & FMIC.

With race gas you can add as much as you want without doing anything else but someplace along the line your equipment will top out & more octane will not help. Also be sure to check the fuel source because over 100 there is a chance of getting leaded fuel if you are not careful.
