Virgin 1M at an abusive price

This thing is literally a mile from my home. If anyone wants me to look at it on their behalf, PM me, and I will gladly do so. The negotiation required to get the price back to reality is your responsibility, though

Doesn't have the carfax linked, but if it was always a Minnesota car, makes me wonder if the dealership owner grabbed it and sat on it with the intent to market it later...#252

Must be asking that much because it has an automatic transmission. Rare, indeed.

People said the same thing about Pacific BMW selling one at the price but someone eventually bought it. A sucker is born every day...

The advert says "automatic", but it clearly is not in the pictures.

Sign of a sloppy, careless, ignorant dealer who doesn't even know the product he is selling. Or trying to.

I was just in there drooling over it last week. Talked to the sales guy about it and he said the customer is a car collector/investor. He bought the car two years ago, drove it home, and there it sat. Customer came back this month, with a Z8, and sold both back to BMWoM.

There is a carfax for it over on mnbmw.com for the local guys/gals.

I agree and disagree. There are collectors, too. Perhaps this person bought two 1M's, drove one hard, and stored the other. Collectors derive immense amounts of satisfaction knowing their own pristine examples sitting in their garage, safe and sound.

i'm just not into that philosophy. to me, automobiles are finely assembled machines with functional value----i think enthusiasts should not just use them, but use them, get them dirty, drive them hard, and be responsible to keep them in great running condition. this whole 'investment' side of the equation really ruins the enjoyment of automobiles, IMO.

have you been concours and stuff? full of stuck up, annoying old people who know the facts behind their car, but don't really even understand the spirit of them. sickening, really.

I found that one weeks ago its got the lowest miles of any in the country I believe. It's a rare breed of car and being a 1M owner I love seeing these values. Not saying mine is or will be worth the same but we as owners can partially understand where their coming from.

I offered them $45K over the web, they responded back that they had a full price offer, I thanked them for the forum material and laughed. (in text form)

Full price offer? Wow. I'll believe it when I see it, though, there are a lot of people with more money than they know what to do with, so I guess it's not that far fetched.

I'm guessing it was BS, I'm sure it will still be listed next week.
