Removing double-sided tape adhesive from clear-bra

My first real detailing question.

2 years ago, I mounted my euro plate over clear bra film on my front bumper using foam super-strength double sided tape. I was able to remove the plate from the bumper using a heat gun but did not ruin the clear bra application. I am left with a few strips of foam tape backing on my clear-bra'd bumper.

Is there a good adhesive chemical remover I can use to remove it that won't take the clear-bra with the foam tape residue?

This might be a good question for some of the detail experts on this forum. But I have always used 3M's General Purpose Adhesive Cleaner. Griots sells it.

David - I have been using that to remove adhesive from painted parts or from the euro plate itself. I am just not sure its safe on clear-bra.

I just looked at my BMW direction sheet for the clear bra.

It only says not to use a pressure washer near the bra film. For cleaning it says use a mild shampo (Johnsons & Johnsons baby stuff) and a plastic film polish for scratches. For removing the film it says to use a hair dryier/heat gun and some isoprobyl alcohol.

It only says NOT to use gasoline - as that can age the film and harden it.

Couldn't you use some goo-gone stuff? I don't know what else to tell you?

bye,
David

Here is the BMW directions. Btw I still have not installed mine yet.
