N55 software update

So I took my car in for a software update and some other stuff. Now my Cobb isn't recognized because my rom changed. How do I get it to be recognized again? 98g0b v200 was my ecu for Cobb. Now it's not recognized so how do I fix it? This software update is very very new... It's fixed the idle surge and dct jerking with Ac on at low speeds for those of you experiencing it.

I think you have to email Cobb and they will setup the tune for the new sw version.

Is there an identifying name or number for the software update from BMW?
Something that I could ask my dealer for to know that it is the latest and greatest.
thanx

yeah i have either 96A0B and 9780B rom versions, i forget which one, and it wont work w the AP.

tried calling and all that jazz...even hooked up an AP to the OBD port and had customer service on the phone, sent them the ROM for support and no go...

still looking for a way to switch ROM versions COMPLETELY in order to get the AP to work...aside from swapping out the entire ECU ($$$$$) I havent found another way to switch to an old or supported ROM version...anyone?

Thank you for posting this. Afterwards, did you feel, hear or notice any differences in the way your car drove? Does the exhaust sound the same? Or is it more muted?

Sounds exactly the same. Car drives like a dream now.. Rpms don't raise up and down after stopping or jerk as I am stopping. I am very happy with the results. I have been in contact with Cobb all morning sending them info on my rom and firmware of my access port. Hopefully I can begin using it again.

Once you back up your rom to your accessport, you're gonna have to send it to Cobb via the submission page on their website. Usually takes them a week to get the update ready for your car. It'll work again, just a waiting game now. Same shit happened to me
