Thank you for the information. I am still waiting for someone to tell me what it costs in electricity bills to charge the various vehicles on the market. And I can guarantee you that the price of electricity will "necessarily skyrocket" when there are sufficient number of cars on the road. A 100 mile trip is standard for me so it would not be beneficial.

MITE46's post above made me laugh. I have a neighbor (female, late 50s, single...in case anyone's interested LOL) that traded in her Lexus SC430 for a Tesla because "...gas prices are so high now." Then, only a few months later, she bought a Cayenne GTS because she needed a "practical" car, too.
Anyway, back on topic! So, I'm curious, how realistic is the 100-mile range? I think about my commute (70 miles round trip daily) and I wonder if the Active E could actually deal with that.

I have over 11,000 miles on it and have had it 4 months and 2 days. (Picked it up January 13th) I'm on pace for 34-35k per year so yeah, it can deal with a lot of driving, just not long trips between plugging in. Last edited by tommolog; 05-15-2012 at 02:08 PM.. |

I just saw one of these on Long Island the other day and had to look it up. Cool to know there are only 700 of them here on a test run and I got to see one. Good luck with it!!

I'm paying just like you, but will all the miles I drive it feels like free because I'm not buying gas and I charge the car off my home solar array so I don't even have an electric bill most months. I'll put 65,000 to 70,000 miles on it in two years and hand back the keys - unlimited miles on a lease? You can't beat that!
