Nice stable! Very admirable. You just need a 2-wheel model! You got me over to eBay to look at the 2002s - I miss mine of 15yrs ago.

Thanks! As much as I love the other cars, the 2002 is still one of my favorites.
Man I wish!!! Unfortunately, it's just a 3-car. I did put a second overhead door in at the back of the garage and then built a parking area behind it so I have plenty of room, I just need to use car covers for a couple of them. Quote:
It's tough to compare the 135 to the 2002 from a driving perspective other than to say they are both an absolute blast to drive. You are definitely more connected in an '02 and you can feel everything the car is doing. One thing the 135 can't touch the '02 on is visibility! If you've never driven an '02, you have no idea what great visibility really is. I'm still having a hard time judging exactly how big the 135 is and how far it sticks out (front, back & sides). When I drive the 2002 though, I can see all four corners of the car from the driver's seat. I love that about the car! Surname...feel free to jump in and give your comparisons.

Hey Whip,
You observations on visibility are spot-on and something I've not experienced in any other car, the ability to see all about you, including motorcycles, is confidence inspiring, you have absolute ,unconditional, situational awareness in the 2002. The 02 is downright tossable, a car you wear, Zen-like. While the 02 is relatively gutless, I had more downright fun in that thing than the 135 will ever offer. For me, what the 135 brings to the table is outright brute muscle, my gosh, what a beast! Sure do miss my 2002. Oh yeah, I did all the work on my 02 as well.

Wow man.. just wow.
Is this the stable of a 2 person household? If so, why have all 3 of the back row, methinks having just 1 would suffice. Just seems like a lot of 'overlap' unless you just like looking at your cars Which is basically what I do with my garage queen, my Firehawk.

compare to e36 coupe?
Hi Whiplash,
I'd really appreciate it if you could compare your 135 to your M3 coupe. Thats what I have now and i am really concerned about back seat room for my kids and how it "feels" compared to the e36 in terms of handling, connection to the road, etc. Beautiful collection of cars...thanks for sharing!! |
