125i Performance Exhaust

Hey guys just got the Performance Exhaust fitted to my 125i by Andrew at Southern BM.
As everyone knows Andrew is a great guy, and a magnificent resource to have as a BMW owner. He had it installed straight away and at a very reasonable price!
I also had a gong go off every time i started my car up because my fog lights were removed for the perf bumper, BMW dealer wanted to charge me 4-500 bucks to fix it and wanted to keep the car in over night, Andrew managed to do it for a fraction of the price and during the short time it took to install the exhaust. Apparently he's invested in some coding stuff and is able to customise all sorts of things.

Now to the exhaust itself, its friggin awesome! completely different to stock, has a deep growl and burble. During idle and cruising its quiet like the stock. I couldn't have asked for more.

Anyway here are a couple of clips.

After 2 weeks/797km, has started to mellow (ever so slightly)

Arr.. this would be my next mod! Do you mind sharing how much he charged for it? Was thinking of sourcing the part from the states, but rather just get it locally to save the wait if he has it in stock.

Your CF diffuser looks like it's matte in the video.

Love the sound of the BMWP exhaust. Do you still get to keep your warranty even though it was installed not at your dealer?

The exhaust was actually a surprise present from my partner, and im pretty sure she got it from US.
As to getting it from Andrew, not sure exactly what he can do as it is not an Australian BMW part, but it would be worth giving him a call.

Indeed the diffuser does look matte . Shiny CF+no wash = matte CF.
I have been flat out at work for the past few months and haven't had a chance to give my car a wash...

I'm considering getting one for the 130i.... Does the perf model still have a flapper valve? (to keep it quiet while cruising?)

No it does not... IIRC the instructions say to simply "golftee" the line or disconnect it .. i forget

jozeff, drivehard is correct there is no flapper valve. mine looks like the line for the has been stuck onto a metal rod coming off the exhaust.

chrisN, not sure of the exact diameter, but they are significantly larger than the stock.

wmj73, it gets louder?! haha i love it atm, but my gf wont be happy to hear that.
you got any hints on keeping the tips clean?

almost under AUD700 delivered.
they sound so good, much better than the magnaflow option which i've heard on another thread, the BMW PE has a much angrier note.

in the vid at the top of this post of the PE exhaust, there's a funny cricket'ish sound when the engine revs around coming back to idle from when he's revving it, sounds like a weird vibration or something?

When you purchase from getbmwparts you have to email them and ask how much postage is, they just list 35$ as its the min i think, but they will charge the appropriate amount to your card.

I know what your talking about, but i think its normal, and you dont hear it at all from inside the car.

There is a good step by step guide in the DIY section.

All you have to do is saw off the stock muffler about two or 3 inches from the weld (from memory), then add the clamp, insert the end of the PE and tighten. All done.
