No issues with istalling it, deploying it, or going to dealer. Not sure why 1 or 2 guys seem to have an issue with starting the car, it seems the overwhelming response (as in my case) is that the clutch stop is trouble-free.

Works fine for me, no issues. My dealer didn't mention it on my last visit.

no joy with clutch stop
put me in the small category of people having problems starting the car with the clutch stop. about 15% of the time car would require extra firm press to start. wife freaked so had to remove. found out removal destroys plastic fishbone keeping it in hole. probably about qurter inch too long.

Yes, normally the clutchstop will not be noticed by a mechanic unless it is causing a starting problem. The fact that it's not reversible kind of sucks. I have shortened it by 1/8" at the rubber base and it seems fine now. |

But, if you want to put the stock on back on, try wrapping paper around the stud portion, to build up the circumference and push it back in. Give it a try. I had a stopper of my own design that reamed out the hole a bit larger. When I installed the new stopper I wrapped some plastic around the stud and it fit just fine, nice and snug. Shave the stopper a bit and try again, like ulrichd did. You'll get it. The better feel is really worth it. It's so easy to install and remove, a little extra time to shave it a bit isn't such a big deal. But, to each his own. As for service I intend on keeping the new stopper in. On the cars having a start problem the switch seems to be located a bit oddly. You could look around down there and see if there is an adjustment for it. Maybe someone on these forums has a spec sheet showing how to adjust the switch. Post a new thread question, maybe someone can give it to you. |

I was having some starting problems when I first installed it but I gave it a couple of firm presss down on the clutch. I think it seated it and compressed it and now I'm not having any issues starting..... only if I let the clutch up too fast after pressing the starting button the engine would cut but that part is normal.

Love mine!
Only time I have to push harder to start is when the car is really cold...rubber is firmer...but I must say I won't go back to stock. Buy it. |

the other guy sells a "conservative" stop as well so I was thinking of getting that one.. not doing it without reading about it before though! |

looks like he also sells a conservative stopper but I have the original. My personal opinion is that it's "just right" any shorter and it may not be as effective. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...&category=6755 |
