This is not my personal opinion, I was just preemptively telling him what others will think Personally I drive a white e93 335 and have a carbon trunk so I never badged it as I never had a chance to paint it white I like the cleaner look without, but I feel like less people will ask if its an M3 If I do have the badge On the other hand I know someone with FBo, RB turbos and meth, it's a sleeper and he put 320d on the back. I got a kick out if that |

Bought my '08 in August 2010 and it had the ///M emblem on the back. No other mods on it (besides tints). Was at my dealership and they took the ///M badge off for me (I asked them to). My car has performance mods now, but nothing to do with ///M performance whatsoever, so it makes no sense. Personally I think the ///M reputation is being whored around way too much now
I like being debadged though, I kinda like the whole mysteriousness about it. People are STILL unaware about the 1 series. They look at the car and assume it might be fast, and then they ask me if it is, and I giggle (Thanks, JB4). I got my inspection last week, and they asked if it was a 3 series. I unfortunately got towed a few years ago, before I took the ///M badge off, and they listed the car as an M3. Smh, that was the last straw before I took it off. |

Saw a 135i the other day with an ///M on the other side of the trunk. I felt bad for him. I have black numbers on my car, but it still says 128i on there.

I personally took the 135i badge off my car because I liked the more balanced and cleaner look of the badgeless trunk. I definitely get a lot more 'Hey nice 3 series!!!' remarks now, but it's definitely worth it.
In other news I saw a 7 series driving around with an M5 badge yesterday. Poor thing. |

I took the dealer logo off the LH side of the car, then it looked unbalanced so I took off the 128i on the other side. If the roundels weren't installed permanently I'd remove them, too. Thinking of designing my own 'roundel' - that would confuse everyone.

PERSONALLY... Debadged = Cleaner. Whether you have a 128, 135, 1M, 93' Ford Taurus.. plus what the f. I hate chrome. and it's the only chrome on the car. WHY!! This coming from the guy who has left his badges on.. Would that bother a dealer if removed? haha |

My 128 is debadged (as stated earlier) and my license plate (CXXVIII) restores the information contained in the badge, so don't worry nobody will think I have a 135. Wouldn't want to be a poser or, at 55 be considered a 'noob'.

I at the idea of "badge ethics" or "///M ethics" when non-M cars come from the factory with multiple ///M badges plastered all over various parts.
But I mostly get a kick out of people who debage for the purpose of compensating, unless it was just a coincidence that all of those "350z" badges began disappearing when the 370z came out.

No since you have the msport option as many have. I switched to the msport shifter solely because it looks way better then the fugly silver shifter mine came with.

What total bullcrap. Based on that statement, the 99.5% percent of people who don't debadge are self-absorbed showoffs.
It's your car, do what you want...unless (as others have said) you're trying to indicate that your vehicle is something it's not. I'm not a fan of the chrome look, so I went with shadows. Again, to each his/her own. |

All my cars have been debadged, just think it looks better without.
Although, the Suburban did get a "Canyonero" badge. LOL! http://www.etsy.com/listing/86469812/canyonero-custom-car-emblem |
