"Recommended Services" @ 1st year (5400miles on my car)

I was a little surprised at the gall of the Stealership to try to sell me all these (in my opinion) unneeded and overpriced services.

Is this normal at your local dealer? I normally do all my own service but I figured since its included for the 1st 4 years I'd just take it in.

that is REALLY WRONG to try to have a customer even think about doing this after 5400 miles....I would not go back to that dealership

Are not all of those things covered under the maintenance warranty? What the heck is a tire service? Fuel injector induction service???? Are you living in Mexico and running the car on a mix of tequila and donkey whiz? 4 wheel alignment costs $350?????

I am inclined to take this sheet to my dealer and ask the guys I know to explain it. I know that a high quality shop with a very cool alignment machine costs about $100 to do four wheel alignment. But, that is in the US. You should not need that driving on normal roads for seveal years at a time, unless you are beating the heck out of the suspension.

Crazy stuff! No wonder BMW dealers have a bad rap in some places!

If you have active steering, a 4 wheel alignment done by a dealer should be no more than $300. For regular steering, the usual cost is $150~220. And you can easily determine if one is necessary by checking the evenness of your tire tread wear.

I've never had a dealer try to sell me the other stuff, and I doubt any of it is either necessary or even helpful. So just have your dealer do the free covered maintenance as outlined by your manual and car's computer and politely decline any additional "offers".

(The last item - the Battery/Alt. test should be performed only if there is a problem and is then considered a warranty item. My '07 328i recently had such a problem, my dealer performed the test twice, found the intermittently bad alternator and replaced it for a total charge of $0.00 under warranty. They also gave me a free loaner for two days while waiting for the parts to arrive.)

Probably wheel balancing and possibly (but not likely) rotation. Most tire shops will do it for about $15~20 per wheel and mine does it for free if you bought the tires from them.
