New addition to the fleet!

Now a proud owner of a 2011 128i 'vert. Manual, of course. So fortunate to have it as my DD (for now) so the M can be spared the mileage. It's a change from the 1M, but a pleasure to drive in that old-school, normally aspirated six E30 kinda way.

congrats! and open air driving to boot!

I love driving the 1M too much to take anything else. Mileage be damned! I'm gonna wring out every last bit if joy I can!

Jalopnik does a feature they call 'future classics' and the 128 was picked as one because it may be the last normally aspirated Inline 6 in the BMW lineup.

Congrats on the acquisition!

Thanks much! I'm stoked. I was just looking for a manual 1er, but got lucky with the ragtop. It's pretty quiet, surprisingly. I used to have a Saturn Sky Redline, and it was like bathing in jetwash in that thing. Loving the old 6. A pleasure to drive in a different way. I got back in the M yesterday to help dropping off my wife's car for service and it was like driving Animal...

That's awesome! I wonder if you are the first one to own 2 1's at the same time.

Of course not, we even have/had a few members who has/had 2 1Ms at the same time

OP: Congratulations for the purchase, wise and cool (literally!). Sweet engine and car, only if BMW would dare to put the more powerful version of the N52 in that 1 but you can always get there yourself with a few simple OEM mods if you desire.

Don't think so. Believe it or not, a few of our Australian and European friends have two 1Ms.
