Power folding mirror question.

As i read some where it can be code for mirror to fold when lock the car. My question is how do i find out the mirrors has power folding option. Is it possible US specs come with power folding mirrors or only in euro spec. Thanks

Its not the coding you need to make sure you have.. you have to make sure you have that physical option in your car when you purchased it as you need the motor in your physical mirror to have it fold..

I think it might come with the comfort package not sure.

I read on the E90 forums, it came with premium package but could not find any information on how to active that feature beside saw the video from alekshop which mention need to ad in feature by coding. But according to bmw premium package come with exterior folding mirrors but didnt say anything about how to make it work.

Coding can only active the folding mirror by keyfob..

If you had the folding mirror option in your car you would have the interior button to fold it manually... so no you do not have it.. since the physical motor is not there.

I think the button looks something like this in the picture below the windown opening buttons:

Yep, just coded this setting. Makes no difference with the mirrors. You can close the windows and the sunroof with the FOB, but after that the party's over.

The key fob is initially programmed only to unlock the doors and roll down the windows/sunroof. But my brother had his reprogrammed to do that plus fold the mirrors and have the capability to roll the windows back up on his e92 m3. If you dont know if your mirrors fold there is a button next to the mirror adjuster and if you press it they should fold in

I'd like to code the mirrors to unfold when unlocking the car but my spot is so small I can't unfold them until I pull out of the space. European parking...

The sunroof!

But seriously, in order to have enough room to get out of the car I have to park very close to the neighbor's car on the passenger side. She pulls strait in to her spot, I back in to mine.

no this does not have to be done at the dealer. I had someone else do it for me. I just got an update to my car from the dealer. Need to go back to the guy and have him re-code it again.

I do not have the folding mirror button/option on my car.

I am wondering if i could purchase the 1M mirrors with the folding option and have it coded on. I have an 08 with the Tiny mirrors and am contemplating the 1M's for both looks and increased vertical visibility, it would be nice if I could also get the folding feature.

Anyone know if the car is wired for this?

so just to be clear, if you have the ability to fold them from inside the car then the dealer or someone more talented than me should be able to reprogram the fob to fold/unfold when locked/unlocked? thanks!

The problem is I don't think there is anyone who recodes here, so only option is the dealer.
