I vote Terracotta! I love it, one of my favorite colored interiors. Has that natural brown leather look.

Oyster is very in right now for luxury car interiors. One of my friends has a relatively new 535i in black with oyster interior.

Terra Cotta all the way! Originally i was a fan of the Coral Red interior but after a few test drives in it i found it bothersome and looked like the color of Cambells Tomatoe soup..LOL... I can take about an hour of Red Coral and then i do not like it anymore...i could not imagine waking up daily to that color..i no it's popular but not for me..I REALLY like the red leather burgundy color in the M3 my favorite...2nd would be Terra Cotta, 3rd all black like mine with piano black trim.....White leather or Oyster as they call it will NEVER find it's way into any car i would own...I despise the Poplar and all the wood trims in the BMW's...Go for CF, Aluminum, or the Black Piano trim....

For reference, here are some pictures of my current car with the Black/Oyster interior with Bamboo Anthracite trim. It's a 3 coupe, but I have no reason to believe Oyster on the 1 Series looks any different. I think these pictures are fairly color accurate, representative of what Oyster looks like in regular daylight.
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=396781 To answer the original question, Oyster does not look yellow-ish to me. It feels like slightly washed out cream. It has a mildly warm tone -- it's not cold or silvery. As others have mentioned, the Oyster does get dirty faster. 2 years later, my seats show some gradual darkening of the bolsters and there is some mild darkening on the armrest. I often drive in dress clothes with a tucked in shirt and leather belts (black or brown), so there is a shadowy band where my belt rubs the driver's seat. All of this can probably be addressed, but it would obviously be a non-issue on a darker interior. |

Here's a follow-up question: why is the BMW online configurator fairly accurate when it comes to portraying the color of some interior options, but not others?
My car has an Oyster/Black interior and my wife's car has Veneto Beige. In both cases, the online configurator is very accurate. But when it comes to Terracotta, I think the configurator is way, way off. On the configurator, the Terracotta interior looks almost brown. In person, it's far more orange (true to the name). What gives? |

PS. Side bolsters are next to your ribs, not next to your thighs. Sports seats have larger ones that inflate and deflate via a switch. They are meant to prevent your body moving laterally while aggressively cornering.

Oyster has replaced gray. I used to have the older gray interior with very little black trim. The light colored carpets and floor mats nearly drove me crazy.
Also, if you like to wear black denim slacks, the dye will rub off and show on anything other than black leather. It can be removed with leather cleaners or oil soap, but it is annoying. I suspect blue denim will rub off as well. I am quite happy with a black interior, and the black headliner from M Sport compliments it.

That's interesting...because they had gray leather when I ordered my wife's 2011 128i (pictured in my previous post). Seems like they had more exterior colors too. The gray is a little darker than oyster. We like it because it doesn't get as hot in the summer as the black leather in my E92 does.

The Gray leather went away. It's not on the build it site anymore, fellow Texan. Hot is something we have an endless supply of around here in the summer.

Thanks, I thought bolsters applied to ribs and thighs. IDK what the ones are called that are next to your thighs |

Certainly agree with you about the heat. This is why I have tint on the windows. It makes a big difference. And I can take the heat over cold.

Does anyone have any feedback on leather terracotta/walnut trim vs terracotta/anthracite trim vs black/walnut trim vs black/anthracite trim combos in 135i? Placing the order 2/9/13. I have seen the black/anthracite and like it.

Wow I can't believe I said water blue as a seat color when I was talking about oyster leather haha
Ironic that I went with oyster leather too! Coupled with my DSB exterior color and aluminum trim I have never looked back!
