New to the 135i lifestyle
Having some issues with my ABS system. What tool is the best for affordability scanning ABS and other codes. Does anyone have experience getting diagnostic tools in Ontario. I'm new to bmw ownership and am wondering if there are better options than shipping/duty or shipping to the US and getting at a later date. Similar for parts.

Try and talk with other BMW owners to find a really good BMW indy garage; you may get a good code reader but you'll likely not be able to fix it.
Go to Bavauto.com and ask for their free catalogue. Go to "blog" on their site for many DIY's videos. Join your local BMW Canada Club (well Trillium is not exactly local). Join BMWCCA; great monthly magazine and its a ticket to getting absolutely the best and quickest technical advice from Mike Miller. |

I have a D+Kan cable coming. If you want to go the old fashion route.
Bav cable scanner is awesome. It really breaks down the sub categories really well. JB4 is good too. I pondered just getting the JB4 for scanning, but from the consensus I found around the forums, look for the BAV scanner if you plan on keeping the car.

Issue was 5dc2 when I pulled the code on a scanner from a guy at work that he let me use. I cleaned out the hole and figured it was the sensor because it didn't go away. Replaced sensor on Saturday and light went out. Then yesterday as soon as I pulled out of the driveway everything came back. 5dc2 is right rear. I don't really want to throw parts at it and hope it gets fixed. Was hoping if I could find a scanning system that works I could watch speed sensor data and see if it's reading and if it's reading right. Can torque app work for wheel speed sensors? I have iOS but could pick up a tablet if it would solve my problems.
