328i Pricing in Canberra
I have posted this in the F30 Post section and thought it may be of interest here.
Not sure whether there is much visibility in the forum here in Aus re the fact that the ACT has some rather interesting advantages for the 328i buyer. The best thing about a 328i in the ACT is there is no stamp duty in the ACT, which as a result makes it about $2.5k cheaper than everywhere else. Additionally LCT doesn't kick in until $75k mark because of its low fuel consumption. The net effect is that a car bought out of Canberra will offer substantial savings over other states. If you want to try the water, and give a Sales person a hard time, call Darren at Rolfe in Canberra, (02) 6208 4126. Me? I have asked him to price up one just like this in manual |

Interesting...
The LCT thing not kicking in until $75k applies up here in NSW too. I wonder if the competition of Sydney dealers will outweigh the stamp duty saved by the sole Canberra dealership? PS get the Performance parts after you buy the car for two reasons: - you don't pay stamp duty and LCT on it - cheaper If you option the car with carbon fibre shenanigans then it pushed the purchase price up which attracts more tax. |

drove one of these 328's and a f30 335i last week. While the n20 engine was impressive for its size, we will still go for the n55... just SOOOO much smoother to drive.
LCT in vic on low comsumption cars is $75 K as well, which does however give it a substantial saving, depending on the additional options you want, the 335 had much more standard.

Having driven the entire current F30 range back to back at Eastern Creek, my pick of the bunch is also the 328i. However for daily duties, I've always thought the 320d is a fantastic car.
Also, because LCT is a federal tax, the thresholds will be uniform across the country - $75,375 for the fuel efficient cars, ie under 7L/100km So basically, John is saying that the stamp duty will be the only variable here...thanks for that tip John! |

Not a fan of that bodykit & stripes. Really cheapens the car. Wheels don't do it for me either. Looks like they came from Bob Jane. Interior looks ok though.
I think the $75K LCT limit applies for this car in Qld too. |

Manual white, of course, 328 loaded, heads up display, roof blah blah MSport just a bit over $80k on the road.
The auto is a no cost option, actually the auto is standard and the manual is a no cost option. Good for 8 speeders but bad for manual buyers. Also noteworthy, the 335i Australian brochure says that you can get a manual as well |
