Still do not have the car back. I managed to get the dealership to give me a loaner (Mercedes ML350) and when I picked it up on monday they said 3-4 weeks still.

Feel for you y1.
Had an incident with my 1 and had to be in shop for like 3 weeks and was going nuts. Been watching your post with updates, keep em comming.
Cant wait to see the finished product, and how it drives.

The head is fine. Healed up quickly. I am also having them put my winter rims/tires on for me cause i should be getting them delivered to my office in the next hour or two.

all that matters is that you are ok...the car will be fixed...make sure you go to a good body shop...my car(e46 325i) is still is in shop and its been gone since 11/11

well i saw the car today. it has been in the shop exactly three months now. (accident happened 10/6/08) it is out of paint. they did a great job. now they have to put it back together and sent it to the service dept to check wheel alignment, etc. Still prob about 2 weeks till i get it back

* sorry i dont have pics today. I will post some once the car is all finished and has her winter shoes on (I dropped them off today so they could put them on and have it ready for this crappy PA winter up here)

UPDATE FROM THE COLLISION CENTER MANAGER:

Every thing is fine. My tech is still putting the interior and other components together. He has been working on this process for days.
The paint work came out great. Its to early to forecast a completion date of this week or not. Most likely next..
Although we are getting close and making progress.

From the looks of the weather forecast around here, it's not a bad idea that you got winter shoes on while it was in the shop.

I test drove a 128 at Sun in November (didn't think to look for your car), and everyone there was very accomodating. Sun is on my short list for when I get to pull the trigger.

You have been very patient. I understand the nature of the repair. Even so, the wait would drive me a little nuts.

I do hope the finished product is worth the wait. It will be if it was a quality job.

If you are shopping around, try Faulkner in Lancaster as well. I ordered with them and they've been very helpful.
