AW 135i, Shadowline Grilles, New Style Roundels

I got my 135i in July of last year. I never got around to taking photos of it until today (yeah I know). I like mods that are tasteful and subtle. I went with the BMW Shadowline grilles that match the Shadowline trim of the sport package. I also installed a set of the new style roundels and ///M valve caps. Finally, I picked up an OEM trunk floor cover which will save the trunk carpet from taking a beating.

My next mod (besides the JB3) is going to be 18" CSL reps in silver-as soon as someone starts making them in the correct offset that is. If I decide to go with a light tint, I will probably go with gun-metal instead of silver. Hope you enjoy the pix.

Can you post the old vs new Roundel. I know i'm new to the bmw camp... but I have no idea what people are talking about when they mention this mod.

Thanks!

xantdieselx,

I agree with you 100% man. I sure wish someone would make a set of 18" (19" looks even better) CSL reps in both silver & gun metal gray with the "correct offset & width." That way we don't need to see it sticking out a tad from those nice fender wells...

As soon as I get home, I'll post some pix of the old and new style roundels. In the 2nd pic it's actually the shadow of the contours of the car that make it look dirty. You can see it is actually clean in the first pic.

I work for Inskip so I deal with almost every advisor from every brand. Before the 1 I had an Infiniti and although the service was good, it does not compare to the level of service I have gotten from BMW. If you need any type of service done, PM me and I will tell you exactly who to talk to.

The new roundels don't show up as nicely on photo. In person, they make the wheels look much better... at least for the BMW performance wheels. Nice clean wheels btw.

I don't see what's worse about the new roundels, they look bigger and don't have that plastic edge. Looks like an improvement to me, maybe I am missing something.

It depends upon which wheel you have. As used with the standard silver-gray wheels, the old style roundels are not bad. However, against a dark wheel, the gray plastic outer ring of the old style looks cheap and out of place.

Ok.... I finally see the difference. Next question,

How are they the "new style" roundels if they are not stock on a 2009 135? Which which car do these come OEM ?

I'm in West Greenwich, just over the Coventry line. I lived in Cranston almost my whole life until just about a year and a half ago.

What part of RI is your family from?

The wait must be killing you...I know it killed me. At first I was like "No big deal I can wait". After a week of reading up about the car on this site I was going out of my mind.

Once your car is in transit you can actually track the ship it is coming over on.
