British band Sniff 'N The Tears formed by Paul Roberts were one hit wonders with this toon in 1978 and 1992 after it was used in a TV commercial. I think the song is about one of my favourite things in life: every relationships is made up of one person who cares more than the other one.

Surely it's not a swap as time goes by so much as an expansion? I don't think you have to abandon music you like in years gone by in order to like new music. Maybe I misunderstood what you meant!

Performance artist Laurie Anderson had an unexpected hit in 1981 with this half sung, half spoken track. It's been argued the song is a cover of the aria "Ô Souverain, ô juge, ô père" (O Sovereign, O Judge, O Father) from Jules Massenet's 1885 opera Le Cid. Anderson looped a "Ha" with an Eventide Harmonizer and processed her voice through a vocoder.

It's been argued the song refers to the 1979 Iran hostage crisis. That may be but she's certainly Gary Numan in drag.
