BMW chain set for 1 series... #36110392171
Has anyone actually tried these? Good alternative with all-seasons to real snow tires when it snows in the mid-atlantic? (Or when driving to West VA?) They seem expensive, EU274.49 but still cheaper than buying four snow tires.

Tire chains have always struck me as the the last resort for getting through the snow. I would not want to drive on them for any length of time due to possible damage to tires and or body work should they release while in use. If you are only concerned about an occasional shortlived snow event, you could throw these in the trunk for peace of mind. However, if you live where it snows with any regularity, you should bite the bullet for a set of snow tires and wheels.
