Tyre purchase/fiting in Sydney?

Am going to be requiring new tyres soon, and as I’m new in Sydney, was wondering where people would recommend I try/avoid around Sydney for good service/prices?

A work colleague of mine recently had his tyres changed, and had all four rims come back with chips where they had applied the clamp to balance the tyres.

Chees for your help.

Depends what sort of tyres are you after? Tire rack is the best place but unfortunately you can't get certain brands. Depends also the size you are after, I believe a few forum members are offloading their tyres on "For Sale" Thread. Check them out. Last I remember they were good tyres too.

Fitting, you should be able to get it fitted & balanced for around $60-80. Tempe, Taleb, whatever..

Purchasing, really depends what you're after.

Thanks for the feedback. I understand that it will come down to specifically what i'm looking for, but was just after a few places to start enquiring, so appreciate the help. Might give Jax a miss to start with though...

Cheers again.

^ not all Jax are bad.

I bought my Hankook RS3s from Jax Haberfield and they did a great job.

I've used Tempe and St George before on numerous occasions and they've each done a good job every time at very competitive prices.

Try Ozzytyres at Hoxton Park. Get all my wheels and tyres from them. Price is fairly reasonable.

tirerack are sending all brands again.
i just ordered some michelin pilot super sports in 265/35/19. a pair landed was a tad over $900 aud.
i wouldnt really bother with local, especially with high end large sizes. ive always saved about 40-50% with tirerack and it takes 5 days to arrive

just out of interest harills, what was the price u paid and size?

Glad to hear tirerack.com can deliver to Australia again.
However I feel a price cannot be place upon ongoing service-storage-support, especially if requiring multiple sets of rubber annually.

Ian, let us know how you go with RE11 compared to your PS2 and PSS. (Am still in two minds about PSC.)
