Looks good, very M3ish. Too bad its a fake quad that adds useless pounds and unnecessary restriction. I also wonder if the gaps are real, and if they are, if they allow enough airflow that the diffuser wont cause problems at high speed like the stock one.

I am still hoping someone offers a functional alternative to the BMW performance version...

I don't know guys....looks a little ricey to me. The quad exhaust isn't doing anything for performance, and for a deffuser to actually do any good, there needs to be an airflow path from under the car (the whole point of the fins is to straighten out the airflow coming under the car and reduce turbulents behind you). This doesn't seem to allow that.

Yes, agreed. Old news. A bit too much for me. Needs to flow with the bodyline better.

yeah...does look fairly M-esq. however the more i look at it, i must agree that the quads do not help performance and i am not really a fan of doing something to a vehicle that will hurt performance (added weight and more restriction), cost me more money, and merely look good.

stock ftw

Not really a fan of that look. Just seems all glamour with no muscle. As someone else has said, it seems to add needless weight and potential for restriction.

Besides, most real 1addicts will look at a car with that mod and know it is not a true quad exhaust system. To me it is kind of like putting an M badge on a non-M car. Sure it may fool the non-believers......but to the die hard enthusiasts they know it is all show and no go.

Gee, imagine me agreeing with Jeremy on something. . .

For me (YMMV), duals or quads are for separate banks of cylinders. Technically, the N54 qualifies, if one exhaust comes from each turbo - but I haven't seen such a configuration yet.

Technically, the 135 comes with duals (tips), but I still count it as a single exhaust. Besides, I get a charge out of realizing that if someone criticizes my car for the single I can probably show them my taillights even with a single exhaust.

Have Fun,
Rick

Never been big on centered quads.... I put the quads on the sock diffuser by cutting the other side. Looks much better imho

ricey. would go perfectly with a pagani zonda quad exhaust, where each pipe will spew outa each pie of the roundel. The roundel will have to be at least.. 2x its size.

Yeah, at high speeds (read: limiter removed) the stock diffuser flexes outward. Is it going to slow you down or make you fly? Probably nothing noticeable, but it is happening. Is it going to matter to 99.99% of 1 drivers? Nope.

But, there is a reason the performance version is cut with mesh inserts, as seen in this photo from United BMW's website: http://www.trademotion.com/partlocat...catalogID=6218

I like it... Then again I have a CF spoiler and a CF mirror which pretty much DO absolutely nothing in terms of performance. Funny thing is, a honda accord down the street have the same set, CF spoiler & CF Mirror... I guess my 1 is riced out.... lol

Ya, those runcraps really lessen the enjoyment out of the feeling I get when I ride my car When I'm done with em, new rims and tires for sure.
