Software CIP 20 messed up my "Communications" in i-drive.
Menu is locked on "Options" cannot select anything on list.
Example: if I need "Roadside Assistance" no way can I select it.

Can others check their menu and see if it's does same thing?

I took car to dealer & not a clue what's up, as always!
They took down info. that my options is frozen & will send to BMW.
Any luck, maybe a fix in next software update?

I know one thing after this fix, I will never again get a software update.
Every time they fix something, something else gets messed up!

I seem to have the same problem and was a little hesitant calling the dealer because I never really went in that part of the iDrive and wasn't sure if it got screwed up after CIP 20 or was always like that.

I just realized I too have this "problem" (not sure if it is a problem or not..never checked it before)
All I can do it Update Services in BMW Assist Menu.

I can only update services also. I can't select anything. It was like this before the CIP 20 update.

No. It was like this before the CIP 20. I always thought it was normal. I just thought it was a list of what services was available. I think I can select the services in a different menu. I'll see if I can get some pics tomorrow.

I've had my car 7 months & always able to select all on list "Menu".
Now it's frozen because of CIP 20 update. Let your dealers know for sure!
Dealers will all send a service notice to BMW & they will come up with a fix.
When who knows?

If u need "Roadside Assistance" need to use SOS button to call it in.

Oh yes it was caused by CIP 20.

BMW Assist called me & said that I should not be able to use...
update or terminate services. That it's only for the dealers use.
Oh well, they said if I used "Update Services" to many times.
They would terminate" my account & I would need to sign up again?

Did you get any other software updates before the CIP 20? I think when I first got my car, my dealer performed a software update. Don't know which CIP it was. Maybe the prior CIP can disable the services?

I can get to "Communications" from Nav. screen instead of idrive?

The CIP 20 still messed up my other menu because I use to be able
to high light all on menu. I'm just glad to know I can go to 2nd menu now.

Yes, couple months ago I got 19.2 update.
Now u got me thinking, maybe it was 19.2 & not CIP 20?
Oh well, one or the other froze my menu, but like u said 2nd menu YA!

I just reread the BMW Assist section in the manual again.

i menu -> Communications Settings -> BMW Service Settings -> Service Status -> Enable Services = Services offered shows up on screen.

i menu -> Communications Settings -> BMW Service Settings -> Service Status -> = Current services available shows up on screen.

i menu -> Communications Settings -> BMW Service Settings -> Service Status -> Options -> Update services = Updates available services.

It's my understanding that this screen is only to show you what services are currently available. The manual doesn't mention anything about selecting any of the currently available services that are displayed on screen. I think the only way to utilize the services available is to push the BMW Assist button.

Is everyone here talking about the same screen?

Roadside Assistance can be called by performing these steps:
Menu -> Communication -> BMW Assist -> BMW Service -> Roadside Assistance -> Start Service

Yes u are correct, this is way I did not realize till now.
Before I use to push on idrive knob highlight Communication select.
Menu list of appx. 7 feaures I use to be able to highlight them & select.

Looks like BMW changed it so we use menu you have suggested.
Long as I (We) can get to our services I could care less which menu
